It is said that in ancient times, the Kazakh khan (king) had a beautiful princess who had reached the age of marriage. One of Khan's ministers was interested in the princess and proposed to Khan, who agreed. However, due to the age difference, the princess did not agree, but could not tell her father. The princess's maiden was very clever, and came up with an idea for the princess, saying, "You tell the Khan, whoever wants to find a tree that sings, you'll marry him." Khan finally accepted his daughter's opinion, posted a notice of the country, three months for the limit. The minister was not happy about this, but he could not openly oppose it.
A month passed, but no one dared to open the notice. One day, a young hunter passed by the city, saw the crowd, talking, so he went up and carefully read the content of the notice, and thought: Since there is a tree that can sing, even if you go to the ends of the earth, you have to find it. He went up and resolutely unveiled the notice.
The hunter was taken by the guards to Khan's palace. The princess saw behind the curtain that the hunter was young and handsome and fell in love with him. The princess asked her father to meet the hunter, and the minister tried to stop her, but he could not give a good reason. The princess and the hunter finally meet in the back garden. The princess gives the hunter a ring as a token of her love, and the hunter vows to find the singing tree and marry the princess.
The young hunter traveled through the mountains and forests, but could not find the singing tree. When the deadline came, the hunter was both anxious and sad. That night, the hunter had a dream in which the old man of the snowy mountain told him, "When you encounter difficulties, you should seek advice from the people." The hunter hurried down the mountain. The Kazakh herdsmen, knowing that he was the youth who had uncovered the yellow list, all regarded him as a hero in their hearts and came to visit him. When they learned that the deadline was approaching, they were all anxious for him. In order to encourage the hunter to find the singing tree as soon as possible, the herdsmen killed a sheep to entertain him. The sheep killer put the intestines of the sheep on the tree beside him. Unexpectedly, the intestines brought hope to the hunter.
After the banquet was over, the hunter became more and more depressed and despondent, so he took a walk in the woods. Suddenly, a sound he had never heard before reached his ears. Raising his eyes, he saw a few sheep's intestines, dried by the sun and taut on the trunks of the trees, trembling and making noises in the breeze. He flicked his fingers a few times, and it made a very beautiful sound. The hunter had an epiphany: wasn't this the singing tree he was looking for?
The young hunter sawed down the trunk of the tree and cut it into a long, easy-to-carry scoop, and then a few air-dried sheep's intestines fixed, made a brand-new musical instrument. This instrument, the Kazakhs later called it Dongbula, meaning the tree that sings.
The hunter embraced the singing tree, the princess will be unlimited thoughts into the lyrics, ding dong dong even play and sing. The beautiful and melodious sound of the piano, like locks of silk, through the woods, floating to the grassland. The herdsmen all came to listen to the performance. Everyone was mesmerized by this heavenly music, but also for the hunter found a singing tree and happy, have expressed willingness to go to the capital with the hunter to congratulate the princess on her dream.
At the capital, the minister received the young hunter alone. He was so jealous of the hunter's success that he tricked the singing tree into his hands and went to see Khan. The Khan asked the minister to play and sing, but he panicked. Because he had no idea how to play it.
The princess heard that the minister had found the singing tree. The maiden said, "The minister has never taken a step away from the capital, so how could he have found it? If he found it, why can't he play it?" The princess heard this and thought it made sense, so she sent the maiden out of the palace to look for the man who had actually found the singing tree. The people said it was the young hunter. The princess was overjoyed to know this.
Seeing that one plan had failed, the minister came up with another and ordered the hunter to be arrested and imprisoned on trumped-up charges.
The princess met the young hunter in prison while the minister was away. The hunter was ashamed of having lost his singing tree. The princess touched the ring on the hunter's hand and encouraged him to take back the singing tree.
The minister, in order to take the singing tree for himself, coerced the hunter into teaching him how to play and sing. The hunter said, "Without the singing tree, what can I teach you? The minister thought it right, so he brought the singing tree and gave it to the young hunter.
The young hunter, with the singing tree in his arms, remembered how hard he had searched for it and how much the princess had loved him, and sang as he played. At this time the princess rushed to come, listening to this fairy music like deep love long piano and song, tears can not help but rustling down the cheeks.
The minister was so angry that he ordered the hunter to be beheaded. But the warriors, hearing this touching sound, not only risked their lives to disobey the order, but also escorted the hunter out of the prison.
The young hunter and the beautiful princess were finally free and in love. One of them played the tree that can sing --- Dong Bu La, one sang the song in his heart, both left the capital, to the vast prairie.
