Why is Shenzhen Lianhuashan Park called Lianhuashan?

Historically, Lianhua Mountain once belonged to three villages with three different names. Gangxia belongs to the south of the top of the mountain, and the villagers in Gangxia call it Lotus Mountain Dawangling. The northern slope of the mountain belongs to Upper and Lower Meilin, which is called Lotus Beam. The villagers in Xiameilin used to call it Jiujiang Dragon.

Lianhua Mountain is an important commanding height. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, after the Japanese army occupied Shenzhen, a fort was built on Lianhua Mountain to combat the anti-Japanese guerrillas in Dongjiang. After liberation, in order to defend the frontier defense, 1952, PLA engineers also built military facilities on Lianhua Mountain.

Among the three different names of three villages, the popular one was chosen, and the name "Lianhuashan" was officially marked on the map with a slight change.
