In 1948, he studied music and drama at Baishan Art College in southern Liaoning. In 1949, he served as an actor in the Liaodong Provincial Art Troupe. At the same time, he collected and performed a two-person version of "New Year's greetings to military families" and participated in the first national folk art co-performance. In 1951, he went to Beijing to perform the Northeastern folk dance "Fan Dance". In the same year, this dance participated in the Second World Youth Festival held in Berlin, Germany, and won a gold medal. In 1954, he served as a Errenzhuan actor in the Liaoning Song and Dance Troupe. The duet performance "Watching Lanterns" was recorded by China Record Company and distributed nationwide. In 1964, he was transferred to the Liaoning Provincial Folk Artists Association and engaged in the research of Errenzhuan. Later he served as secretary-general and vice-chairman of the Provincial Music Association. In 1973, he was transferred to Tieling District Art Troupe as director. The director's duets "Planting Yangko", "The Sun Is Out", "Looking at Spring Flowers", "Relatives" and "The Man in the Painting" won awards in national literary and artistic performances. In 1980, he participated in the National Folk Dance Academic Symposium and read out the paper "Inheritance and Development of Errenzhuan Dance". In 1982, he wrote and directed the monograph "Errenzhuan Dance", which was published by People's Music Publishing House. In addition, he has published more than ten papers in national journals, such as "On Xiao Lanzhi's Dance Art", "An Overview of Northeast Errenzhuan Dance", "You, Me, Him. Errenzhuan Performing Arts", etc. In 1989, he served as the artistic director of the Liaoning Provincial Folk Art Troupe and went to Japan to participate in the International Theater Art Festival. The duo in this performance won two gold awards and a costume design award, and the collective won a silver award. In 1994, the book "Dance for Two Persons" won the Liaoning Province Art Theory Research Achievement Award.
