I think it's an okay short film.
Netease Entertainment reported on July 10 that the short film After Dusk, which was directed by and starring Li Yugang for the first time, was premiered at the Beijing Film Academy. The film is the first movie work completed by Li Yugang after he returned from his studies at the Beijing Film Academy, and it is also a successful attempt for him to smoothly enter the film industry as a national-level actor of the China Opera and Dance Drama Theater. Li Yugang devoted several months of his life to making the film, from the initial planning to the post-production, showing the professional attitude of a filmmaker.
After Dusk
is a portrait of nine women with very different personalities, showing their different behaviors and inner activities when they come and go to the tailor's store, and at the same time reflecting the profound meaning of life. Although the film is only twenty minutes long, it shows Lee's usual style of favoring traditional culture. The play is set in the Jiangnan water town, with "cheongsam" as the main element, and the image of different women is seen from the perspective of a tailor. As a newcomer to the film industry, Lee has always held himself to a high standard, and hopes to learn from his expertise and gain experience through excellent platforms such as the Chongqing Youth Film Festival. After Dusk has already been selected twice for the film event, and this time, being selected for the main competition section of the Youth Film Festival is likewise a support and recognition of Lee's crossover from a young performing artist to a film.
"Behind a piece of work are the silent efforts of many behind-the-scenes staff. The artistic road of the movie is still long, thanks to every filmmaker friend for their support and help, they will continue to cheer!" This is the heartfelt sentiment of Li Yugang after studying film, but also to express admiration for the many active behind-the-scenes filmmakers.
