Guancheng, the existing Guancheng, was built in the twenty-first year of Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty (1542 AD). Guangsheng Temple
The temple was founded in the year Huan Yuan built at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty (147 A.D.), and was originally known as Juru She Temple, also known as Wang Yu Pagoda Temple, and was renamed Guangsheng Temple in the Tang Dynasty. Tang Taizong four years (769 years), Fenyang King Guo Ziyi by order of the Chinese assassin, wrote a book, asked to rebuild. 6. The best route for a day trip to Taiyuan
If you want to choose a summer resort worth visiting, Taiyuan is very suitable. It's not as hot as Qinghai Lake or Kanas, and the temperature isn't as hot as Hangzhou or Wuhan in the internet celebrities. So, among the many summer destinations, Pony thinks Taiyuan is also an excellent summer vacation destination.
Reasons for Pony's recommendation:
1. From July to August, even when most cities in China are still hot, Taiyuan's maximum temperature is just over 30, and the minimum temperature is 12 degrees, so you can feel relatively cool.
2. If you come to Taiyuan for a day trip, there are still many options. You can choose to go to the Shanxi Museum to experience the profound culture of Shanxi, or you can choose to go to Taiyuan's iconic Twin Towers. You can go to China's largest Taoist grottoes, Longshan Grottoes, to feel the cave culture; you can also visit the ancient architecture of China's oldest surviving royal ceremonial gardens, Jin Temple, so there are still a lot of choices for a day trip.
3. If you want to go a step further, then ancient buildings like Pingyao Ancient City and the Wang Family Residence can be done in one day to give you a taste of Shanxi.
4. On a trip to Taiyuan, you'll also get to taste a lot of food unique to Shanxi, and you can even hit the most authentic snacks in one day.
5. This is also a transit point for Shanxi tours. From here, you can go to Wutai Mountain and Datong in the north and Pingyao in the south, so it's good for a stopover on the way.
Taiyuan day trip attractions to choose:
Because everyone's preferences are different, the choice of attractions for a day trip to Taiyuan is also different. Pony recommended according to different interests:
If you are interested in cultural relics:
Shanxi Provincial Museum
Since the broadcast of "National Treasure", many travelers have developed a strong love for museums. Well, as the gathering place of Shanxi culture, Shanxi Museum in Taiyuan must be the one you can go don't miss. Although it is not as famous as Shaanxi History Museum, Palace Museum and Nanjing Museum. When it comes to collections and exhibits, Shanxi Museum is not bad at all.
The collection of Shanxi Museum has reached 400,000 pieces. Beast ornaments, bird statues, Hufu wine bottles, Miaodigou colored pottery pots, geese and fish painted copper lamps, Jinlong tomb wood lacquer paintings and so on. All are exhibits that Pony thinks are most recommended.
Shanxi Provincial Museum has no admission fee, you can 16o clock. It can be said that if you do not if you do not have much time to travel to Shanxi, you can quickly appreciate the tourist attractions of Shanxi in advance. For example, you can see various models of Jin merchants quadrangle, such as Wang Jia quadrangle, Chang family manor and so on. And you can also learn about Yungang Grottoes, Hanging Temple and many other attractions. So Pony personally thinks it's well worth a visit.
You can focus on the 2-3 floors, where the town treasures are basically located.
Tips:
How to get to the Shanxi Museum: you can take bus 865 and get off at the Shanxi Museum stop; take bus 69 and get off at the Provincial Museum stop.
It is also recommended to rent an interpreter so that you can better understand the culture of Shanxi.
If you are interested in ancient culture and architecture:
It can be said that when you arrive in Taiyuan, humanities and ancient architecture are the main objects to visit. There are many such places hidden in Taiyuan, so you can have a good experience.
Pure Palace
To be honest, this is a tourist attraction that particularly surprised me. I was expecting it to be an attraction with not much to see, but when I went there, I found that it housed a lot of ancient artifacts and some ancient buildings.
So what is it about Pure Yang Palace that attracts me?
It's also the Shanxi Art Museum, which has a lot of Taoist artifacts and a lot of Buddhist and other artifacts. There's a fair amount of antiquities. (The theme here is not very clear, though, which makes it a bit overwhelming, but the entrance fee to 30 yuan is still acceptable.)
How to get to the Pure Palace:
Outer Ring 89/Road 611/Road 838, get off at the Hotel of Peace, then walk. (It is also the west side of Wuyi Square)
Jin Temple
This is the most worthwhile attraction in Taiyuan, and it is also a place where many tourists come to hit. It is called the Little Jiangnan of the North. It hides three treasures, the first is the Yu Numa Liang Fei, an ancient footbridge built in the Song Dynasty, the second is the oldest surviving main building of the Jin Ancestral Temple, the Holy Mother's Courtyard, and the third is the place where offerings are made without a single nail.
Jin Temple Tourist Pit Prevention Guide:
1. There are two attractions in Jin Temple, one is Jin Temple Park and the other is the real Jin Temple. Jinci Park is the attraction very close to the Jinci Park Station. When you arrive at the bus stop, there will be many wild guides to attract you. Facing such a situation, refusing is the best way.
The picture above shows the fake Jinzi, the new Jinzi Park.
2. The entrance fee for the real Jin Temple is 80 RMB. After getting off at Jinzi Park Station, you can walk straight along Jinzi Park for about 10 minutes to reach the real Jinzi.
So you need to check the transportation before you leave so that you won't be targeted by drivers and wild guides.
How to get to the Jin Temple:
Take bus No. 308 in Taiyuan and get off at the Jin Temple Park stop.
Let's draw a picture of the fake and real Jinshi below for your reference.
How to plan a day trip to Taiyuan;
Recommended day trip based on pony experience. Summarize: morning: Shanxi Provincial Museum; afternoon: Jin Ancestral Temple; evening: if you like lively, you can go to Willow Lane for delicious food.
Shanxi Provincial Museum visit time: it is recommended to spend 2-3 hours to visit the museum, it is best to rent a docent.
Jinshi visit time: it can be said that every step of Jinshi is an attraction, it is recommended to spend 3 hours to explore it carefully.
What's worth eating in Taiyuan:
Although it's a day trip, you can still try some delicious snacks when you have time. Like many ancient cities, you can walk into a street and taste the local specialties. You can focus on checking out Taiyuan Willow Lane, the new food street, Taoyuan Lane, Old Barracks, Sports Road, and Wenxing Road, where there are plenty of things to enjoy while eating.
Consider the following cuisines:
Knife-shaved Noodles
This is almost a must-try noodle dish when you come to Taiyuan and even Shanxi. Taiyuan's knife-shaved noodles are drizzled with a marinade that makes them slippery with internal tendons, and the more you chew, the more flavorful they become. There is a lot of soupy marinade in knife-shaved noodles. As a traveler, you may consider beef or mutton as the most distinctive. Basically every noodle shop in Taiyuan is delicious.
Noodles
are a type of noodle dish made of buckwheat noodles, usually made into noodle soup with lots of broth. I personally prefer minced beef and lamb.
Cat's Ears
Personally, ponies still like this type of noodle because it looks nice. It is usually made from white flour and buckwheat flour. It is also usually made into noodle soup, broth, cat's ears and veggies which are mixed together with chili. It is very satisfying to eat.
Haggis Soup
If you like soup, you can't miss the haggis soup down the street. A bowl of haggis soup is hearty. Mutton liver, lungs, stomach, intestines and heart are boiled with onions, ginger, cilantro, vermicelli and tofu. The full bowl has a Shanxi specialty.
Other than that, there are a lot of delicious can not miss, bean paste cake, brain flower, stewed noodles, lamb chops, oat noodles, steamed dumplings and so on.
Where to travel and live in Taiyuan?
If it if a one or two day trip, I personally recommend living next to the train station, so that it can be easy to travel.
If it it's a 3-5 day in-depth tour. s suggest that you can live in two places. If it goes to visit the museum, the Twin Towers, the Pure Yang Palace, you can stay near Yingze Bridge or Wuyi Square. It is very convenient to go to the provincial expo, Meibao, Geobao, Pure Yang Palace, Wuyi Square, Chongshansi Temple, Wenfu Temple and other attractions, either by bus, bicycle or on foot. If you are traveling to Jinci, you may want to suggest staying in Jinci Town.
Wuyi Square and Yingze Bridge are marked as follows:
Of course, Pony also suggests that you spend 3-5 days touring Taiyuan and the surrounding attractions in Taiyuan, take a bus to Pingyao to see Pingyao and visit Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple; you can take a bus to Yuji to visit Changjia Manor, Yuji Ancient Town and so on. All in all, it is a place that will surely surprise you.
7. Taiyuan Travel Tips Best Route for One-Day Tour
One-Day Tour to Qiaojiayuan near Taiyuan: Pingyao Ancient City (this is a classic route) Recommended: One-Day Tour to Jiewei Mountain Duo Fu Temple Tudang Fodou Dafa Temple near Taiyuan. In Taiyuan City, Xiayuan bus station to take the 12 road public **** car, to the terminal Huyan village, walk south a couple of hundred meters there is a road to the west. Go straight to the Jiewei Mountain. The mountain road is basically steps. It takes about half an hour to climb to the top. There is a tower at the top that you can visit. Further in, it's all road. After a while, you'll see a fork in the road. Below is the Dofu Temple. The entrance fee is 5 yuan. Above, you and I will find a village full of farmhouse meals. You can have lunch here.
Afternoon: descend the mountain after lunch. After descending, you can follow the railroad 2 to 3 kilometers north to reach Tutang, where the Tutang Buddha is located. Rising around the red leaves and Tutang Buddha are the eight exterior views of Taiyuan. After the tour, you can visit Dr. Dao. s Temple.
8. Day trips to downtown Taiyuan
In November, there are plenty of places to go around Taiyuan, depending on whether you like scenery, houses, or entertainment. If you like the outdoors, there are plenty of options. The Taihang Mountains are great, the Grand Canyon area. If you like historical sites. Only the ancient city of Taiyuan, the ancient city of Pingyao County can be used as a temporary Wang family compound. It is also a suitable choice. So ask if you see where you like.
9. Taiyuan tour guide day trip
Taiyuan day trip adults 240, children half price, the elderly free.
10.Travel Tips Around Taiyuan Day Trip Free Attractions
In many impressions, Shanxi has never been a preferred destination for tourism. After all, there is a Shaanxi in the west, Henan in the south and Inner Mongolia in the north. No matter which city, there are very highlights, so it Shanxi sandwiched in the middle is very embarrassing. In addition to this, most of the attractions in Shanxi are dominated by history, culture and ancient architecture, and most tourists travel aesthetics only stay in the natural scenery.
However, the pony's point of view is different. In my opinion, it this is only because it it is so small that it is worth a trip. Plus Shanxi America's ancient architecture is second to none in China. So if it if you are visiting Shanxi for the first time, you can make Taiyuan your first stop.
Taiyuan, Pony recommended reasons:
1. Compared to the ancient city of Pingyao and the Hanging Temple in Datong, Taiyuan has very few tourists, so it can be considered an undiscovered tourist destination in the province.
2. Many people think Taiyuan has too few tourist resources. After all, the city rarely appears on the list of national tourist cities. But Taiyuan still has many tourist resources, such as the Shanxi Provincial Museum, the Jin Temple, the Chunyang Palace, the Twin Pagodas Temple and the Chongshan Temple visited by Ma Snapdragon. Many of them are national key cultural relics protection units, which are sure to be full of surprises for cultural preservationists or humanities enthusiasts.
3. Taiyuan is an ancient historical capital, not a modern city, so even though it is the capital of the province, it still maintains a strong sense of city life.
Here are a few attractions that Mak recommends for first-time visitors to Taiyuan that are worth hitting up:
Jin Temple
Recommendation: five stars
Recommendation: Tickets for the Jin Temple are a whopping 70 yuan, but I personally think they are worth the price of admission. This is one of my favorite attractions in Taiyuan. It can be said to be full of surprises everywhere. Today, there are still dozens of ancient buildings and many skillful sculptures are the reason to visit the Jin Temple.
If it's your first time to visit the Jin Temple, you can focus on these places, the Holy Mother's Courtyard, the Difficult Old Spring, the Wooden Sculpture Coiled Dragon, the Fish Swamp Flying Beam, and the Golden Terrace.
Hall of the Virgin Mary: the focus can be placed on the sculptures of the early Song Dynasty, especially the 40 female attendants, each of whom has the exact same physique and demeanor.
Yu Fei Liang: This is a bridge built in the Song Dynasty, which can be called the first overpass bridge in China.
Golden Man Terrace Watch: This platform is not big and ornate. At first it gives the pony the feeling that it is a little too simple. But if you take a closer look at the four major iron men, you will find them ancient and exquisite, of which the southwestern one is still well-preserved by the Northern Song Dynasty.
All in all, the attractions of the Jin Temple will not let you down, but here said Jin Temple is the paid attractions. Outside the new Jinzi Park attractions are actually new buildings, attractions are also more general. But outside a lot of wild guide will recommend you to go, remember to refuse.
The place marked by the pony in the picture below is the old Jinci Temple
How to get to the Jinci Temple: There are many buses in the downtown area that can go to the Jinci Temple Park. Taiyuan Railway Station can take the 804 road, 856 road bus to the Jinci Park station, and then walk 3 kilometers through the Jinci Park to reach the Jinci paid scenic area.
Pure Palace
Recommendation: four stars
Recommendation reason:
It can be said that I got to this attraction by mistake. At that time, I only saw a mountain gate and bought a ticket to go in. But there are quite a few surprises. Pure Yang Palace was built in the Yuan Dynasty, and now the scale is quite large. You can focus on the stone carvings of the past dynasties, many of which are beautifully modeled Buddha statues from the Northern Wei or Northern Qi periods. So if you like stone carvings, you must go to Taiyuan.
Chunyang Palace how to go:
Shanxi Provincial Museum
Recommendation: four and a half stars
Recommendation reason:
It is said that the above ground cultural relics to see Shanxi, the above ground cultural relics to see Shaanxi, then Shanxi Provincial Museum to Taiyuan, Shanxi how can we miss it? If you want to understand the history of Shanxi 5000 years for the first time, you must first go to the Shanxi Museum, where there are many Shanxi cultural relics.
Pony's favorite is the Buddha statue of the Northern Wei Dynasty. Of course, you can t miss the bird statues of Jin Hou, owls, dragon jade rings, colored pottery jars, wood lacquer paintings of the Northern Wei Dynasty and other cultural relics.
Tips:
You can focus on seeing the Northern Wei Buddha Exhibition Hall on the first floor, the Jin Kingdom's struggle for supremacy on the second floor, the cradle and traces of the Xia and Shang civilizations, and the Ming and Qing Jin merchants on the third floor.
Other attractions you can focus on are the Twin Pagodas Temple, Longshan Grottoes and Mengshan Big Buddha. You can hit the card if you have time.
Of course, if you like shopping, you can't miss Liu Xiang. Although many people say it's too commercialized, as a first-time visitor, it's still worthwhile to hit it. But remember to try not to buy or eat here as the prices are not cheap compared to other places.
How to plan your trip to Taiyuan?
If it's your first time in Taiyuan, you can spend two days in Taiyuan to experience the charm of this ancient city.
Day 1:
Morning: Chongshan Temple - Chunyang Palace - Shuangta Temple (Twin Pagodas Temple) is mainly to see the three national key cultural relics protection units, which is especially suitable for tourists who like humanities and cultural preservation control.
Specific tour routes are as follows:
Afternoon: Shanxi Provincial Museum, I recommend budgeting 3 hours. There are many places to see in Shanxi Provincial Museum. You can properly spend half a day to visit it and it will surely surprise you.
The next day:
Because Jinci is far away from the city, and there are more attractions in Jinci, you can spend a day to stroll around.
What are the best snacks to try in Taiyuan?
Brined Noodles
It's safe to say that this is a noodle dish worth trying in Taiyuan. It is said that only a specific kind of brine is called lo mein. It is said that each place in Shanxi has a different selection and aesthetic of noodles. For example, Datong is represented by knife-shaved noodles, Jinzhong by picking tips, and Taiyuan by brined noodles. The noodles are not too hard, have a smooth texture and are rich in toppings, including bean curd bamboo, shrimp skin, wood ear and egg.
Where to go to eat noodles is more appropriate: jinxin noodle life hall, jinyi noodles, old military camp noodles, qinxian noodles and so on. It's worth a try.
Mai and croquettes
If you can you may not be accustomed to the unique local thinking, but you won't. t refuse steamed dumplings and steamed dumplings, it can be said that this snack has a thin skin and a lot of filling. For a more authentic way of experiencing it, be sure to hurry to Qingheyuan or try to taste it. It may not be available later.
Rice husk oat flour baked lao lao
While Taiyuan isn't the most authentic cuisine in Shanxi, if your first stop happens to be Taiyuan, then this famous snack can be not missed.
Oil meat
If there's one dish that has the most Taiyuan flavor, it has to be the oil meat. It can be said that almost all restaurants in Taiyuan will have this dish. I personally love it. It tastes sweet, salty and sour, and it it's especially good for dinner.
In addition, snacks can be in Taiyuan can not be missed food include pig brain, lamb soup, lamb chops, Taiyuan old tofu and so on. All of these are worth hitting up.
Other travel summary:
How to get to Taiyuan:
Personally, I recommend you to take a plane to Taiyuan because it is not only cheaper but also time-saving. In Hangzhou, for example, you can often get a ticket for 300 RMB by air.
I know Hangzhou to Taiyuan high speed train ticket costs around 600 for 9 hours.
Dented pre
