How to help children cope with bullying

If your child is bullied at school but chooses to remain silent, there may be fear, shame or confusion behind it. Faced with this situation, as parents, we should do more than just care. Below, we will provide you with some ways to help your child cope with bullying.

Building a bridge of trust

Let children know that home is their safe haven. Whenever and wherever, they can rely on you, and you will provide them with the help they need.

Close communication with the school

If you get some clues, or if there is anything strange about your child, don't hesitate to get in touch with the school immediately. They may have key information to help you understand the real situation of your child.

Give enthusiastic support

Tell children that no matter what happens, the door of home will always be open for them. You are not the reprover, but their solid backing.

Teach children to protect themselves.

Teach them strategies to deal with bullying, such as how to ask for help when being bullied and how to avoid unnecessary risks.

Professional intervention

If the child is always self-enclosed, or the situation worsens, you can consider seeking professional help such as psychological counseling or children's counseling.
