Jingpo people must hold a grand "Mubin Song" on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar every year. This traditional folklore activity includes the unlimited remembrance and worship of ancestors by all the ethnic groups, not forgetting the hardship of migration and business of the ancestors, and calling for unity and vigor in a combination of rituals, songs and dances, and all kinds of folkloric performances as a whole. The name of the "Muben Zongge" is taken from the combination of the sounds of "Muben" and "Zongge" in the Jingpo language branch and the Jawa language branch of the four language branches of the Jingpo ethnic group, which means "gathering songs and dances". In addition, there is a beautiful legend in Jingpo folklore about the origin of the "Mubin Song": it is said that in ancient times, only the children of the Sun God in the sky knew how to sing and dance, and people on the earth did not know how to sing and dance. Once, the Sun God invited all the birds to the Heavenly Palace to participate in the grand "Wooden Brain Song" event, so that the birds learned all the songs and dances at the event. On their way back to the earth, the birds came to a forest full of ripe fruits on the trees, and the fatigue of the long flight made them decide to stop here to rest. The wonderful song and dance of the Palace of Heaven, to restore physical strength after the birds are full of infinite temptation, they can not help but in the forest on the earth held the first "wood brain song" activities. This joyful song and dance event, was coincidentally into the mountains to cut firewood and logging a pair of Jingpo men and women to see the young people, and from then on, the "Wood Brain Song" activities will be brought to the Jingpo folk, has been passed down to today.
