Why it is said that Wu Style Taijiquan is the Taijiquan of Taijiquan

Wu Jianquan, a native of Daxing, Hebei Province, learned Taijiquan from his father, Quan You, when Yang Lu Chan came to Beijing to teach boxing, and then he worshiped Yang Banhou, the second son of Yang, as his teacher, and gradually revised the foundation of Yang-style small-frame Taijiquan, and then Wu Jianquan improved the practice and formed a school, i.e., "Wu-style Taijiquan". Wu-Style Taijiquan is famous for its softness, and its frame is slanting with correctness, loose, quiet and natural, and moderate in size. When pushing hands, it keeps quiet but does not move, and is famous for its goodness. Wu Style Taijiquan is divided into two schools: the southern school is inherited by Grandmaster Wu Jianquan, whose heirs are mainly Wu Gongzao, Wu Gongyi, Wu Yinghua, Ma Yueliang, etc. The northern school is inherited by Grandmaster Wang Maozhai. The northern school is inherited by the master Wang Maozhai, whose descendants mainly include Zhao Tiean, Yang Yuting, etc., and then Zhao Anxiang, Li Jingwu and Wang Peisheng. Quan You (1834-1902) was known as Gongfu (公甫), Baoting (保亭), and his old family name was Wu Fu (吴福氏). Manchu. A native of Daxing, Beijing. When Yang Lu Chan taught boxing in Beijing, Wan Chun, Ling Shan and Quan You in the Shen Ji (firearms) Battalion benefited the most. After several years of diligent study and training, each of the three had his own strengths. Ling Shan good hair strength, Wan Chun get rigid, Quan You is long in softening. Afterwards, Quan You continued his studies with the Yangs' second son, Ban Hou, who was the most filial to his teacher and a sincere learner. He was favored by Yang Lu Chan and was well known in the capital for having the strengths of both his father and son. Mr. Chuan You was a man of gentle character and gentle appearance. Mr. Quan You was a generous and helpful person. He once saw a soldier beating up a merchant on the road, so he went to stop him. However, the soldiers, conceited of their strength and power, and seeing Mr. Chuan You's gentle appearance, thought they could be bullied, so they exchanged punches and kicks at the drop of a hat. However, like a dragonfly shaking a tree, he fell to the ground and did not get up. Chuan You then warned him not to be conceited boxing skills, bullying the people. One day, Quan You was reading in his study, when he was suddenly visited by a guest. He went out of the living room to meet the guest, but he saw that the guest had already entered the front door. When Quan You greeted the guest, the man stepped forward and bowed to the ground, saying, "Greetings, my son." Quan You returned the bow, this moment, only to hear a bang, the guest suddenly flew up, crashed into the living room door. The people around were shocked and puzzled. It turned out that the guest in the salute suddenly used a move "immortal pointing the way", directly toward the lower abdomen of Quan You hit. Quan You perfect vision, even with the fight, the guest sent out in the air. He passed on the name to his son, Jianquan, and his pupils included Wang Maozhai, Guo Songting, Chang Yuanting, Xia Gongfu, Qi Gechen, etc. He was the founder of Wu Style Taijiquan. He was the founder of Wu Style Taijiquan. The psychological (ideological) requirements for practicing Taijiquan can be summarized as the "Five Character Recipe", which includes five aspects, namely, quietness, lightness, slowness, cutting and constancy. Quiet: the mind should be highly concentrated and there should be no distractions. But the human mind is complex, to make the central nervous system highly concentrated, in a single state of excitement, is not easy. So, how can we make the mind focused? The easiest way is to focus on how to make your movements as correct as possible. In other words, it is the movement in the quiet, appropriate so easier to see the effect. As time passes, one can gradually realize the understanding of strength by being familiar with it, and step up to the realm of godliness by understanding the strength. Light: The "light" in Taijiquan cannot be explained by simply not exerting oneself. Lightness is relative to heaviness. It is said in Taiji Jing that "if you are heavy on the left, you will be weak on the left; if you are heavy on the right, you will be weak on the right", which means that lightness means that you should not use "violent force", and secondly, you should avoid doubling up. Light can also be interpreted as "soft", "extremely soft and then extremely firm and rigid" is appropriate to illustrate the flexibility of light, light is not slack, slack and violent force are taboo for taijiquan. Light is powerful without using, so it is said that "it seems to be loose but not loose and will be unfolded" for Taijiquan. The movements of Taijiquan, hand, eye, stance and footwork are all between powerful and powerless, presenting the situation that will be exhibited and not yet exhibited, and it is appropriate to distinguish the reality and emptiness clearly in order to constitute "Taijiquan", and it is the advanced stage of practicing Taijiquan to know this strength, and it is only in the long-term exercise that the silent knowledge and speculation can be made from one's heart. Slow: Taijiquan should be practiced slowly, but not at a standstill. Slow is relative to fast, and the principle of slowness is to be "consistent" and not to have broken performance. It is said in the Taijiquan scripture that "if you move quickly, you should respond quickly; if you move slowly, you should follow slowly". Therefore, when practicing Taijiquan, it is required that the movements before and after be connected, so-called "back and forth must be folded, in and out must be converted", so that the whole set of movements are continuous, section by section, and there can be no intentional delay between the movements. Generally speaking, a set of boxing should be controlled in about 25-;50 minutes between the appropriate. Exercise a good person, each time to play a complete set of boxing time, basically the same, which is the specific performance of the deep kung fu. Cutting: This is the meaning of seriousness. Practicing taijiquan requires practical efforts, not rashly, no matter which move, should be accurate. The reality should be clearly distinguished, avoid lack of movement, and the body should be neutral and comfortable, "step like a cat walking, and transportation of energy like a silk". Another meaning of cut is research, not research when practicing boxing, after practicing to recall, which boxing style is practiced wrongly, and corrected in the future when practicing again. This is the work of cutting, sparring, cutting and grinding, so the work is fast progress. Constant: It means "timing" and "quantification", firstly, it is to be persistent, no matter it is cold or hot, it cannot be interrupted; secondly, it is to be quantitative, according to each person's physical fitness and time, to set up the corresponding time and amount of exercise. The time and amount of exercise should be gradually strengthened in order to gradually improve the level of performance. In short, the requirements of five aspects, namely, quietness, lightness, slowness, cutting and constancy, are mutually restrictive and complementary. When practicing Taijiquan, they can only coexist and cannot be deviated from.
