On the evening of August 8, 2008, in the cultural performances before the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games that attracted world attention, a 110-member performance team of ethnic minorities from Taiwan led by Gao Jinsumei attracted the audience's attention. With loud and clear songs and unrestrained dances, they presented the traditional culture of Taiwan's ethnic minorities on the world stage of the Olympic Games, and at the same time, told the world that the people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, whose blood is thicker than water, will always be one family! The song that shone in the Olympics is called "We are all one family", which originated from the folk song of Taiwan's Gaoshan ethnic minority. The original lyrics are "My hometown is in Naluwan, your hometown is in Naluwan, we were one family in the past, and we are still one family now. ......" The song has no written sheet music. There is no written music score or lyrics for this song, but it is only passed down orally by the Gaoshan people. After hearing this song with its rich ethnic flavor for many times, Mr. Lin Cheng-ji, a well-known member of Taiwan's ethnic minorities, had the idea of writing it down. After a period of collecting and organizing, Mr. Lin made a short score for the song, filled in the lyrics, and named it "We are all one family".
