What is a sailor?

Sailor's duty

1 Under the leadership of the first mate, the boatswain organizes and leads carpenters and sailors to work.

Arrange seafarers' work according to the voyage maintenance work plan and the instructions of the first mate. 4. Do a good job in the maintenance of mooring and loading and unloading equipment, so that it is always in good condition. Instruct sailors in drawing, sailing, overhead, outboard, lifting, driving and other ship skills.

Educate the crew to abide by labor discipline, rules and regulations and safe operation procedures; Care about their thoughts, work, study and life; Conduct safety education for new crew members and guide them to be familiar with the characteristics, precautions, emergency deployment, placement and use of various equipment.

6. Organize sailors to conduct life-saving, fire fighting, plugging, boat operation and navigation exercises; Be responsible for the management and maintenance of plugging equipment, and keep it complete, good and easy to access; In the event of a maritime accident, under the command of the captain and the first mate, lead the sailors to actively rescue.

7. Manage the materials and accessories (except the driver's responsibility), binding equipment and labor protection articles in the deck department, and do a good job of receiving, accepting, distributing and counting, paying attention to saving use and preventing damage and deterioration; Always keep materials clean and tidy; Regularly arrange and maintain various tools, rigging, loading and unloading lights, rope ladders and diversion ladders to keep them in good condition.

Before arriving in Hong Kong, prepare the front and rear cables, anchor chains and loading and unloading according to the instructions of the first mate.

9. When berthing in and out of the port, lead sailors to put away gangways, safety nets, water baffles, mooring and cable laying, and assemble and put away rat-proof files. According to the instructions of the first mate; Under normal circumstances, assist the second mate at the stern.
