Japan's trend-setting culture and lifestyle guide brand BEAMS
has traveled to a book titled "What is the Good Life"
which gathers the homes of 130 ordinary employees
These 130 employees' homes show us
the simple joy of being surrounded by the things you love
Living in your favorite environment and around your favorite people
is the most comfortable and ideal.
Everyone's definition of a good life may be different, but whether it's a big house or a rented house, whether it's one person, two people, or three people, you have to have the courage to make a house a home, and as long as there's a corner of the foothold space, you have to be creative in decorating it into the ideal spiritual habitat of your own heart.
Kid sister excerpted three of them, to share with you.

"Eat favorite food and drink delicious wine."
Yuki Sagara
33 | Design Department
"Next to Shinjuku Gyoen, it's like a jungle outside the window. It's less than a ten-minute bike ride back from the office, and I'm very happy with the distance." Mr. Sagara, who says this, is extraordinarily fond of bicycles and sweet potato shochu.
"The house is rented, so there's less freedom to play around with it, but I put in electrical conduit to improve the freedom of the lighting fixtures, and still used carpeting to give the floors a bit of a high-class look. The home also tried to use objects with better texture."
Mr. Aira's home has a lot of eating utensils, mostly Okinawan pottery; shochu bottles line the cabinets, and his favorite is Rokudome Lily, a sweet potato shochu from Kagoshima, which has a rich and palatable aroma; and the checkered stool in front of the TV stand was handmade by Mr. Aira.
Mr. Aira's closet consists of basics, bicycles, design, and drinks at home, with his favorite basics being threaded shirts by Sainty James and boardshorts by Vans, and sunglasses by Cutler and Gross, which are a must-have for cycling to work. Soju glasses and DVDs from EARTH are the perfect companions for sipping at home.
