The Music of Lahua

The music of flower-pulling is divided into two parts: instrumental music and songs, which are sung by the performers while dancing. However, due to the large amplitude and strength of the movements of the flower-pulling, the performance is strenuous, so it is mostly played by instrumental music, thus gradually weakening the singing part. Lahua music is an important part of Jingfu Lahua, which consists of nationalities, folk tunes, opera tunes, temple music and court music, and has the flavor of Hebei blowing song. It is characterized by ancient simplicity and elegance, refreshing and melodious, deep and wonderful, robust and steady, and its biggest feature is distinctive rhythm. The rhythmic and staccato tones express the dance's strong, inner, calm and bold feelings, and achieve a high degree of unity in hearing and vision, sound and emotion, extremely beautiful. Its style is characterized by just and not wild, soft and not surly, Chinese and not floating, sad and not weeping, listening to touching, unforgettable, and the flower dance, music and dance fusion, integrated, the formation of a unique style of independent folk music. Lahua music in addition to the dance accompaniment for Lahua, can also be played alone. When it is played in marching, it is called "marching music", and when it is played in the field, it is called "sitting music". Lahua music in different parts of the country has its own characteristics. Among them, the Southeast is the longest history of Lahua, and the skills are the best, so it is representative. The accompanying instruments of traditional Lahua generally include: big pipes, small pipes, flutes, sheng, gongs, bores and small cymbals. Some of them also have erhu, sanxian, sihu, banhu, koto (shaped like a dustpan, with seven strings of ox sinews), big cymbals, small gongs, horse gongs, flat drums, etc. The orchestra consists of up to 20 musicians in dual control. The traditional music modes are mostly "Gong" and "Zheng" modes, followed by "Shang" and "Yu" modes.

Yunluo with its crisp and pleasant sound and wind music in the colorful blend of timely and question-and-answer style performance, small boring, small cymbals, flat drums according to their respective rhythms beat, strict division of labor, close cooperation, listening to the people without the feeling of boredom of playing together. Pipes, flutes, sheng, gongs are indispensable instruments in the music of Lahua, constituting Lahua's special artistic charm and rich local flavor. This is any other instruments can not be replaced.

Traditional Lahua sings a lot of words, most of which have nothing to do with the dance performance, and some of which seem low-class, vulgar, but as a source, it also has its value.
