1, Manipuri dance
Manipuri dance is one of the four major classical dance in India, produced in the Manipur region, and thus named. Manipur has always been known as the "home of dance", dance is an important part of the life of the Manipuri people, but also a necessary virtue for women.
2, Brahmaputra dance
Brahmaputra dance is the traditional dance of Tamil Nadu, South India, one of the four Indian classical dance. Indian scholars believe that this dance has its origins in the Aryan culture of North India, but has been developed and perfected in South India. The development of the Brahmaputra dance in the south is closely related to the sacred slaves in the temples of the south, and legend has it that the immortal Brahmaputra is the ancestor of this dance.
3. The Gethakri Dance
The Gethakri Dance is the most famous dance of Kerala and one of the four classical dances of India. Ghatakri is actually a storytelling and unique dance of glorification of God. The great poet Valladore called the Ghatakri dance "the queen of the arts". It combines storytelling, poetry, music, dance, performance and painting. The skillful combination of storytelling, poetry, music, dance, performance and painting is one of the main features of the Ghatakri Dance.
4, Ketak dance
Ketak dance arose in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is the famous dance of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, is also one of the four major Indian classical dance.
(II) Indian Folk Dance
1, Pangora dance
Pangora dance is a kind of harvest celebration dance performed by Punjabis during the harvest season, and the dancers are not limited to the old and the young, and anyone can take part in it, as long as there is an open space and a group of people get together and beat up the drums, then it will be possible to dance.
2, Ghata
Ghata, is the oldest dance in Punjab, "Ghata" means high-five, once upon a time Ghata dance is to please the gods, today in people's marriage and other festivities also jump this dance.
3, Qiumoer dance
Qiumoer dance (i.e., wild dance), is a kind of dance for men. Though not as famous as the Pongola dance, it is also prevalent in the vast rural areas of Punjab as it is associated with agricultural festivals and this dance can be danced at any time of the year.
4, Bhojpuri
Bhojpuri, a famous folk dance drama of Gujarat, is a very special form of dance with music, dance and theater performances, which is similar to cabaret. The roles are all played by men and the audience is all male.
5, Gharbi
Gharbi is a dance performed by men in honor of the Mother Goddess of the Nine Nights Festival. The dance is not usually performed at other times. The layout of the dance floor and the way of dancing are the same as that of the gerba danced by women, except that the men do not carry clay pots on their heads when they dance. Those who dance the gerbi dance wear a bare upper body or a kurta with lace and a pair of Rajasthani pants underneath.
6. Ras Dance
The Ras Dance is another famous folk dance of Gujarat with a long history. It is a mixed gender dance and has three forms, namely, Dende Rasg (stick dance), Dal Rasg (high-five dance) and Raheed Rasg (show dance).
Second, the basic movements of Indian dance
Indian dance is fast-paced, a four-minute dance has about more than 50 movements.
