Brief introduction of Kunming Botanical Garden:
Kunming Botanical Garden was founded in 1938, which is 2 kilometers away from Kunming downtown/kloc-0, forming a famous scenic tourist area with Heilongtan Park, where ancient trees are towering. It is a comprehensive botanical garden with obvious regional characteristics, which integrates scientific research, popular science, tourism and teaching practice. It is also the largest research base of subtropical plant diversity and germplasm resources protection in southwest China and the introduction and cultivation center of camellia, magnolia and begonia.
Kunming Botanical Garden is an integration of the original botanical garden and the plant biotechnology laboratory. In 2006, it was awarded the honorary title of international excellent mountain tea garden by the World Camellia Association. Kunming Botanical Garden has a history of more than 60 years, with a total area of 44 hectares. It is a living plant collection garden with the introduction of rare flowers, Chinese herbal medicines, important trees and rare and endangered plants in Yunnan as the main content.
