The prosperous past has disappeared like incense ashes; The running water is ruthless, and the weeds greet the spring with green every year.

The bustling past is gone with the fragrance of dust; The water is ruthless, and weeds are green every year until spring. The birds groaned, and night came with the sound of the east wind; Falling flowers are as beautiful as green beads falling from upstairs.

Jinguyuan, located in the northwest of Luoyang, Henan Province, is the villa of Shi Chong, a rich man in the Western Jin Dynasty. Tang Shiyuan has been abandoned and become a monument for people to mourn. According to the Book of Jin. Biography of Shi Chong records that there was a prostitute in Shi Chong, whose name was Lvzhu, who was beautiful and gorgeous.
Sun Xiu made people ask for it, but they couldn't accept it. Chong is giving a banquet upstairs, saying that Lv Zhi said, "I committed a crime against you today." Lvzhu cried and said, "Party filial piety died before you." Jumped downstairs and died. Du Mu crossed Jingu Garden and wrote this song "Ode to Spring".
Facing the barren garden, the poet first thought that the prosperous past of Jingu Garden disappeared with the fragrant dust. How many emotions are contained in the sentence "Flourishing fragrance and dust". Wang Jia's "Notes on the Collection of Relics" said: "Shi Jilun's tablets are as fragrant as dust and spread on the bed. Those who love them will do it, and those who have no traces will get real pearls." This is a highlight of Shi Chong's extravagant life.
The "incense dust" is subtle and erratic, and it goes quickly without a trace. The prosperity of Jingu Garden, the wealth of Shi Chong and the fragrance of green beads all vanished like incense dust, but it was only a moment. As Su Dongpo said in his poem, "Things are like spring dreams." . Alas? Still sad? Let's look at the scenery in the desert garden again: "The water is ruthless, and the grass comes from spring."
"Running water" refers to the golden water flowing through Jinguyuan in the southeast. No matter the vicissitudes of the world, the running water is still gurgling, the spring grass is still lush, and they seem to have no feeling about the changes in personnel. This is a description of scenery and feelings, especially the word "Zi" in Cao Zichun, which is similar to the word "Zi" in Du Fu's "Shu Xiang".
In the evening, just as the poet was daydreaming about running water and spring grass, suddenly the east wind brought birds singing. It is a pleasant thing for birds to sing in spring. But at this time-the sun sets and night falls; This place-a deserted famous garden, coupled with the slightly cool spring breeze in the evening, is sad to the ears of poets who are obsessed with the past, as if expressing their feelings about the past and the present.
Sunset, easterly wind and birdsong are the general scenes of spring, and the word "resentment" is written with a sad and sad color. At this time, a sad falling flower came into the poet's eyes again. The poet associated the image of falling flowers in a specific place (Jingu Garden) with the death of the green pearl that happened here, which contained infinite feelings.
A word "Jude" is filled with the poet's memory and pity! Lvzhu, as a plaything of powerful people, it is not worth dying for Shi Chong, but isn't her fate as pitiful as falling flowers? The poet's association not only shows the similarity in appearance between "falling from the building" and "falling flowers", but also reveals the similarity in fate between the green beads and "falling flowers". This metaphor is natural and meaningful.
