A netizen pointed out that 13 songs of the Flower Boys were suspected of plagiarizing other works, and listed the corresponding songs one by one, among which "Hip Swish Swish" was almost the same as "K2G Running Toward You" from the Japanese puffy group's 2003 album. So a magazine invited Chenqi, who is now the music director of the China International Cultural Exchange Publishing House.
The magazine analyzed the four songs allegedly plagiarized by Flowers, "Hip Swish Swish", "The World's First Favourite", "Fairytale Life and Death" and "Star Prisoner Opera", as well as "K2G Runs Towards You" by the Japanese group Puffy, "Swallow" by the South Korean singer Kim Jian-mo, and "Calling" by the British singer Geri Halliwell, from the perspective of four aspects: compositions, harmonies, rhythms, arrangements and so on, Turn Back Time" by Belgian group K3. The final conclusion was "it's not a coincidence, it's not an imitation, it's plagiarism".

"Hip Swish Swish" was found to be identical to the Japanese group Puffy's song "K2G Running Toward You", which was found to have the exact same melody repeated over and over again in the chorus, except for the beginning and slight differences.
The two riffs of "K2G Running Toward You" and "Hip Swish Swish" are essentially identical, except that the latter makes a few changes in unimportant places. For example, the latter adds two notes to the beginning.
To make the music, which would have entered from the second beat, enter from the first; and also at the seventh measure, the latter changed the long note in front of it and expanded it by two measures at the end.
Because it was so obvious, the record company to which the Flowers belonged also had to share the copyright revenue from "Hip Swish Swish" with Sony Records, to which Puffy belongs, afterward, and Dazhongwei released an apology video.
