The year 1986 was the year of world peace. The creators of Let's Look Forward To A Better Tomorrow wanted to mimic the "We Are The World" group's model of singing for a good cause to echo the theme of the Year of World Peace.

So, Taiwanese singers such as Luo Dayou and Zhang Aijia*** wrote the song and gathered 60 Chinese singers*** from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia to sing it. These singers, spanning across different geographies and record labels, broke the signing restriction and included singers and artists such as Li Zongsheng, Tsai Chin, Su Rui and Pan Yueyun. Luo Dayou and other promoters also invited Flying Saucer, Rolling Stone and PolyGram to participate in the production of the single album.

In 2005, the song was again included in the album "True Love Warms the World" produced for the "Indian Ocean Tsunami Disaster".

November 15, 2008, Luo Dawou won the Sixth Southeast Music Chart Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Chinese Music Scene for this song.
