Liao Binqu, studying at the Central University for Nationalities, studied the bamboo flute at the age of 10, and won the second prize in the first Guangxi Red Copper Drum Professional Competition.

Started learning Guqin when I was 4 years old.

When I was 7 years old, I started learning bamboo flute. Because of that good grades, at the age of 11, migrated to Beijing to really study. The flute teacher was Zeng Yongqing. I studied with Mr. Zeng for 12 years, and was the first female student, and the youngest. She was the principal flutist of the Central Minority Orchestra for four years in college

Because she was a devout Buddhist, she studied Buddhist music. I have studied Buddhist scriptures such as the "Great Compassion Mantra", while my thoughts have been influenced by the idea of "sequential nature".

The two became best friends as they were alumni of the same school.
