Where to go in Huadu

Traveling Huadu by Metro

Huadu is not that big, it's just an administrative district of Guangzhou, and it's not that small, after all, there are a lot of places that we haven't reached yet. Even if you are one of those who ride the subway every day, you may not know and discover some "beautiful" things along the way.

Huadu Tourism will launch a series of subway tours in Huadu, introducing you to the "good scenery" along the Huadu subway lines.

When you come to Huadu Square Station, you are basically in the center of Huadu. Not to mention the wide view here, it is located right in the center of Huadu, which can be said to be the heart of Huadu.

Perhaps as a square, it's nothing to write home about, but as a subway station on Line 9, there's much more to it than that, including the fact that it's full of memories that belong to the people of Huadu.

Don't believe me? Why don't you follow my footsteps to see what stories are in it? And what's new?

Huadu people's Roman holiday

Its most iconic feature is that one Roman colonnade.

Every holiday, the square is sure to be crowded with people, most often families. So this is the "Roman Holiday" of Huadu people. Not to mention that at night, the lights here will add some exotic style, the surrounding is the sparkling Tianmei River, very moody.

Huadu people's childhood memories

This place is full of memories of Huadu people's childhood, almost Huadu people will come here when they are young, because there are wide lawns on both sides of the square. Our parents would bring us to fly kites on the lawn.

We ran hard under the blue sky and white clouds, a kite flew over the square, and we tugged at the strings in our hands, smiling more brightly than the sun.

Huadu District Government

Besides kite-flying, we gather here during festivals to experience the festive atmosphere of Huadu, which is most exciting than the New Year! The fireworks and the people counting down to the end of the festival are so lively.

When it comes to this area, we must talk about the Huadu District Government directly across the square. And speaking of the government, here's a little history of Huadu to tell.

Before the establishment of the county, the northern hills of Huaxian (always called Huashan), for Panyu, Qingyuan, Conghua, Nanhai and other counties in the wrong side of the land, has always been "thieves" of the Yabu. The Qing Dynasty in order to consolidate its rule, in the twenty-fifth year of the Kangxi period (1686), analyzed the Nanhai and Panyu counties part of the region to set up a county, because of its location in the Huashan Mountains, named "Huaxian," belonging to the Guangzhou Prefecture. 1958 winter, the Huaxian and the Guangzhou suburbs part of the merger of the communes, renamed Guangbei County. The following year, the suburbs of the commune back, the name of the county of flowers. 1960 April for Guangzhou City County. 1993 June 18, approved by the State Council to abolish the county of flowers, the establishment of the city of flowers, by the provincial people's government entrusted to the Guangzhou Municipal Government. 2000 May 21 and approved by the State to set up a district, became the city of Guangzhou City, Huadu District.

The construction of Huadu Square

So when was Huadu Square built? It was in 1999, a year before Huadu City became Huadu District. Covering an area of 180,000 square meters, it is equivalent to half of Beijing's Tiananmen Square. In addition to the Roman colonnade, the field also has a performance stage, dry-land fountains, urban sculptures, dance floors and other supporting facilities, with an average annual flow of about 2 million people.
