The 2021 World Figure Skating Championships are scheduled to take place in Stockholm, Sweden, March 22-28, 2021, which is the qualifying event for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Eligibility
Athletes must first be licensed by their national skating association to represent their country as a national team member at the World Figure Skating Championships. In order to promote the popularization of the sport of figure skating and to foster its development, the International Skating Union (ISU) has stipulated that:
Each ISU member country (or region) has a quota of participation in all four individual disciplines of the World Championships, i.e., the member country (or region) may send two athletes to compete in the men's singles skating and the women's singles skating competitions respectively, and two pairs of athletes to compete in the pairs skating and the ice dance competitions respectively The following are some examples of how the competition can be organized. If a Member State (or region) has achieved excellent results in a single event at the previous year's World Championships, it may send two or three (pairs) athletes to compete in that event at the following year's World Championships.
