Synopsis of Sing Tao Night

In 1930s and 1940s, song and dance performances were all the rage in Singapore. Song and dance troupes from Shanghai, southern China and local areas continue to sing every night. In singing and dancing, everyone forgot the coming war and all kinds of unpleasantness in the real world. In this context, the play will reproduce the glorious night of Sing Tao.

In the 1940s, the war was extensive and fierce. Yu Hong and Song, two pillar actors of Shanghai Song Liming Song and Dance Troupe, are blushing on the stage. Song regarded Yuhong as a thorn in his side and vowed to get rid of him quickly. Yu Hong didn't want to be trampled by Song, and tried to resist. These two people are in the same boat. Mo, a young musician, came to Xingzhou from Shanghai on the eve of the outbreak of World War II to go to relatives far away. He is a bookish literary youth who loves fantasy, is addicted to music, is insensitive to the world, and often makes many jokes. He met Yu Hong on a boat from the south and fell in love with her.

Mo Li Guang's cousin is a vicious tenant, so she has to take care of the cunning tenant in an old building. In the face of all the strange opponents, Mo Li Guang was exhausted and laughed at by everyone. Fortunately, with the help of Liu Jiumei, a young girl, she will not be driven back to Shanghai by her cousin. Jiumei's life is bleak. She was regarded as a cash cow by her adoptive mother and sang everywhere since she was a child. Later, she was bullied into a soda girl in New World karaoke bars. However, she is optimistic by nature and happier in suffering. She dreams of singing and dancing on the stage one day. She fell in love with Mo Riguang through thick and thin, but Mo Riguang's heart was red, so Jiumei had to hide her love in her heart. Mo Li Guang was lucky enough to witness one exotic Indian, Malay, Nyonya and English song and dance after another, which made him very shocked.

He was inspired and wrote many songs for his nine sisters to sing. Nine sisters happily sang Mo Li Guang's creation, and they were a perfect match. With the arrival of the south, the struggle between Yu Hong and Song Dynasty intensified. Song tried to ingratiate himself with wealthy businessmen, trying to wipe out Yu Hong in one fell swoop. However, Yu Hong fought back at the expense of his own health and eventually replaced Song as the top leader of the troupe, which later became popular throughout Singapore. Yu Hong invited Molly to join the troupe and redeemed nine sisters who were sold into brothels.

Jiumei regards Yuhong as a lifesaver and is grateful to her, but Yuhong finds Jiumei's singing and dancing talent a threat to her. She tried to suppress Jiumei, but it backfired. Under the careful guidance of the Song Dynasty, Jiumei's singing and dancing has advanced by leaps and bounds. Yu Hong wants to get rid of Jiumei in order to keep his position, just as Song wants to get rid of her. Nine sisters and Mo Li Guang called on everyone to take part in a special street performance-Sing Tao Night, which was a sensation and made her more famous. Jiumei became an instant hit, and her foster mother was up for grabs and sold to profiteers at a high price to supplement her family. How can Mo free Jiumei from her clutches? Did he finally choose Yu Hong or Jiu Mei? The war is about to break out and the situation is chaotic. What will happen to everyone?
