I want 30 ancient Chinese fables

The Man of Qi-Tian

Once upon a time, in the country of Qi-Tian, there was a man who was very timid and a little nervous, and who used to think of some strange problems, which made people feel puzzled.

One day, after dinner, he took a big fan, sat in front of the door to measure, and said to himself: "If one day, the sky falls, what should we do? Wouldn't we have no way to escape, and would be crushed to death, which would be too wrong?"

Since then, he worried and fretted about this problem almost every day, and his friends, seeing him in a trance all day long and looking haggard, were all very worried for him, but when they knew the reason for this, they all came running to him and advised him, saying:

"O man! Why do you trouble yourself about this? How could the sky fall? Even if it does, it won't be solved by you worrying about it alone, so think about it!"

But no matter what people said, he didn't believe them and still worried about this unnecessary problem from time to time.

Later, according to the above story, the idiom of "worrying about the sky is not a matter of course" was developed, and its main meaning is to remind people not to worry about some impractical things. It has the same meaning as "mediocre people worrying about themselves."

Fox False Tiger Power

During the Warring States period, when the state of Chu was at its strongest, King Xuan of Chu was surprised by the fact that all the countries in the north were afraid of his general, Zha Xi Shih, so he asked his ministers in the court. So he asked the ministers of the court why this was so.

A minister named Jiang Yi told him the following story: "Once upon a time, there was a tiger in a cave, and because he was hungry, he went out to look for food. When he came to a thick forest, he suddenly saw a fox walking in front of him. Thinking that this was the opportunity of a lifetime, he leaped forward and effortlessly tackled him. But when he opened his mouth and was about to eat that fox into his stomach, the crafty fox suddenly spoke: 'Hmph! Don't think that you are the king of all beasts, so you dare to devour me; you must know that heaven and earth have ordered me to be the king of kings, and whoever eats me will be subject to the extremely severe sanction and punishment of heaven and earth.' When the tiger heard the fox's words, it half believed them, but when it tilted its head and saw the fox's arrogant and calm look, it was shocked in its heart. The original arrogance and overbearing posture had disappeared for the most part at some point. In spite of this, he still thought in his heart: I am the king of all beasts, so any beast under the sky will be afraid of seeing me. And he, surprisingly, came to rule over us by order of the Heavenly Emperor!

At this time, when the fox saw that the tiger hesitated not to eat it, and knew that he already believed a little in that speech of his, he puffed out his chest even more divinely, and then pointed to the tiger's nose and said: 'What, don't you believe in what I said? Then you come with me now, walk behind me, and see if all the wild beasts are scared out of their wits and run away with their heads when they see me.' The tiger thought this was a good idea, and did as he was told. So the fox made a great show of opening the way in front of them, while the tiger followed cautiously behind. Not long after they had gone, they saw that many small animals were scrambling for food in the depths of the forest, but when they realized that the tiger was walking behind the fox, they were shocked and ran wildly in all directions. At this moment, the fox was very proud to turn his head to look at the tiger. The tiger witnessed this situation, can not help but also have some fear, but he did not know that the beasts are afraid of themselves, but thought they are really afraid of the fox!

The fox's plan was successful, but his power was entirely due to the tiger, and he was able to threaten the beasts with a momentary favorable situation, while the poor tiger was fooled, and he himself was not aware of it!

The reason why the people in the north are afraid of Zhaoshi is because the king's army is in his hands, which means that they are afraid of the king's power."

From the above story, we can learn that anyone who uses the power of authority to oppress others, or who uses the power of his position to make a fool out of himself, can be described as a "fox pretending to be a tiger".

Mending the jail after a sheep is lost

This story is from the "Strategies of the Warring States". During the Warring States period, there was a minister of the state of Chu named Zhuang Xin, who said to King Xiang of Chu one day: "When you are in the palace, there is a state marquis on your left and a Xiahou marquis on your right; and when you go out, the king of Yanling and the king of Shouxiang are always watching you. When you go out, the king of Yan Ling and the king of Shou He are always following you. You and these four people specialize in luxury and lustful pleasures, not caring about the state affairs, so Ying (the capital of Chu, in the north of Jiangling County, present-day Hubei Province) is going to be in danger!" When King Xiang heard this, he was very upset and scolded, "Are you senile? Do you intentionally say these dangerous words to confuse the people?" Zhuang Xin replied unhurriedly, "I really feel that things must come to this point, and I dare not say anything unfortunate about Chu on purpose. If you keep favoring this man, Chu will surely perish. Since you don't believe me, please allow me to go to Zhao to hide for a while and see how things will really turn out."

Juang Xin had only lived in Zhao for five months when Qin really sent troops to invade Chu, and King Xiang was forced to go into exile in Yangcheng (northwest of present-day Xixian County, Henan Province). Only then feel Zhuang Xin words good, quickly sent people Zhuang Xin back, asked him what way; Zhuang Xin very sincere said: "I heard, see rabbit teeth remember hounds, it is not too late; sheep run away before making up the sheep pen, it is not too late ...... "This is a very This is a very meaningful story, only know enjoyment, do not know how to do things, the result is bound to be a miserable failure no doubt.

The idiom of "mending the prison after a sheep is lost" is based on the above two sentences, and expresses the meaning that it is not too late to save the situation if one makes a mistake in handling things. For example, a businessman made a mistake in estimating the development of things, and made a rash step forward, and fell into a state of failure. But he was not discouraged, and patiently thought things over again, learning from this mistake, thinking that it was not too late to "mend the fold" and start from scratch!

It is not too late to learn a lesson, to correct a mistake, and to make a career out of it.

This Chinese idiom story Zhuang Xin, the Chu capital Ji Nan (now Jingzhou area) people, is the famous king of Chu state Chu Zhuang Wang's descendants, a life of selflessness, for the time of King Xiang of Chu minister. He was a minister in the time of King Xiang of Chu. At first, he was not highly valued by King Xiang, but after he went to Qi to strongly advise King Xiang, he gained his trust, and King Xiang appointed him as the Prince of Yangling, whose fiefdom is in present-day Huaibei.

The Four Chu Songs

It was originally agreed between Xiang Yu and Liu Bang that the eastern and western sides of the Honggou River (Jialu River in present-day Rong County, Henan Province) would be the boundary of the war, and that they would not encroach on each other. Later, Liu Bang listened to the advice of Zhang Liang and Chen Ping and felt that he should take advantage of Xiang Yu's weakened state to destroy him, so he again joined forces with Han Xin, Peng Yue and Liu Jia to pursue Xiang Yu's troops who were driving eastward to Peng Cheng (i.e., present-day Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province). Finally, they arranged several layers of troops and surrounded Xiang Yu tightly in Gaixia (in the southeast of Lingbi County, Anhui Province). By this time, Xiang Yu had very few soldiers under his command and ran out of food. At night, he heard the troops surrounding him on all sides singing the folk songs of Chu, and could not help but be very surprised, saying: "Has Liu Bang already got the forbidden land? Why are there so many Chu people inside his troops?" Saying look, he had lost the fighting spirit in his heart, so he got up from his bed and drank wine inside his tent; and sang with his most favored concubine Yu Ji. After singing, he dropped his tears, and those who were beside him were also very sad, they all felt that they could not lift up their heads. After a while, Xiang Yu mounted his horse and fled from the south with only 800 cavalrymen. Fighting as he fled, he went to the bank of the Wu River and killed himself.

Because Xiang Yu was surprised to hear Chu songs being sung all around him, and then failed to commit suicide, people later used the phrase "Chu songs on all sides" to describe a situation where people are attacked or pressed from all sides, resulting in isolation and embarrassment. Anyone who is trapped in such a situation, their fate is often very tragic, for example, a person often with the bad guys, not productive, idle; but later on the bad guys forced to make a living, to help others, others should be his usual behavior is too bad, never sympathize with the more ignored, the situation in which this person is "Chu Ge" on all sides. Another example is when academic issues are discussed in school, and a student is uneducated (an idiom meaning that there is no academics), makes irresponsible remarks, and turns right and wrong, and his classmates rise up to attack him, and the student is completely isolated, which can also be called "Chorus of Songs on All Sides". In our life course, in our daily life, do a good job, down-to-earth work, if the line is wrong, will inevitably have to suffer the "four sides of the song" of the doom and gloom.

Ambuscade

Anciently, the king of Qi, King Xuan of Qi, loved music, and especially loved to listen to yu, and there were 300 musicians who were good at blowing yu. King Xuan of Qi liked to make a lot of noise, loved to make a show, and always wanted to show the majesty of being a king in front of people, so every time he listened to yu, he always asked these 300 people to play together for him to listen to.

There was a Mr. Nanguo who heard about King Xuan of Qi's addiction, and felt that it was a good opportunity to make money, so he ran to King Xuan of Qi and bragged about himself, saying: "Your Majesty, I am a famous musician, and no one who has heard me play yu was not touched by it, and the birds and beasts would dance, and the flowers and grasses would tremble to the beat. I would like to dedicate my skill to the king." King Xuan of Qi was so happy to hear this that he accepted him without examination, and included him in the 300-member team of yu-players.

After that, Mr. Nanguo played to King Xuan of Qi along with the 300 people, and got a good salary and rich rewards like everyone else, and his heart was overjoyed.

In fact, Mr. Nanguo told a big lie: he didn't know how to play yu at all. Whenever you play, Mr. Nanguo will hold the yu mixed in the team, people shaking his body he also shook his body, people swinging his head he also swinging his head, face pretend to be a set of emotional forgetfulness of the appearance, and look like other people blowing the same kind of commitment, but also really do not see any cracks to. Mr. Nanguo just rely on deception through the day after day, without working for nothing to get paid.

But the good times didn't last long. After a few years, King Xuan of Qi, who loved to listen to the music of the yu ensemble, died, and his son, King Min of Qi, succeeded to the throne. King Min of Qi also loved to play yu, but unlike King Xuan of Qi, he thought it was too noisy for 300 people to play together, rather than a solo performance. So King Min of Qi issued an order that the 300 people should practice and prepare well, and he would let them take turns to play yu one by one for his enjoyment. The musicians knew the order and practiced actively, wanting to show their skills, only the indiscriminate Mr. Nanguo was as anxious as ants on a hot pan, on tenterhooks. He thought about it and felt that he could no longer muddle through this time, so he had to pack his bags and escape in the night.

Like Mr. Nanguo so uneducated by the deception of the people, cheat a moment, can not cheat a life. False is false, eventually can not escape the test of practice and be exposed disguise. We want to succeed, the only way is to study hard, only to practice a hard real skills, in order to withstand all the tests.

Three Men Make a Tiger

Pang Gong, a great doctor of the state of Wei, together with the crown prince of Wei, as a hostage of the state of Zhao, was scheduled to leave for Handan, the capital of Zhao, on a certain day. On the way, Pang Gong asked the king of Wei a question, saying, "If a man says to you, I saw a tiger among the bustling crowd in the downtown area, would the king believe him?" The king of Wei said, "Of course I don't believe it." Pang Gong asked again, "What if two people say this to you?" The king of Wei said, "Then I don't believe it either." Pang Gong followed up with a question, "If three people had said that they had seen the tiger in the downtown with their own eyes, would the king still not believe it?" The King of Wei said, "Since so many people said they saw a tiger, it must be true, so I can't disbelieve it." After hearing this, Pang Gong said with deep feeling, "As expected, here lies the problem! The fact is that people and tigers are afraid of each other, each accounting for a few points. Specifically, whether a man is afraid of a tiger or a tiger is afraid of a man at a certain time is based on the comparison of power. As we all know, a tiger would never dare to intrude into a downtown area. Now the king has no regard for reason, no in-depth investigation, and is only sure that there is a tiger if three people say so. Then when I arrive at Handan, which is even farther away than the downtown area, will you not assert that I am a bad person if you hear three or more people who do not like me say bad things about me? Before parting, I voice this doubt to you, hoping that the king must not be gullible in believing the words of men."

After Pang Gong left, some people who were usually dissatisfied with him began to say bad things about him in front of the king of Wei. As time went by, the king of Wei really listened to these slanderous words. When Pang Gong returned to Wei from Handan, the king was no longer willing to summon him.

It seems that rumors and gossip are enough to destroy a person. The more people who agree with the rumor, the more the white will be said to be black, it is really called "the crowd's mouth is gold, the accumulation of destruction of the bone". Therefore, we should have our own analysis of everything, do not be clouded by falsehoods.

Painting a snake

There was a nobleman in Chu who, after sacrificing to his ancestors, gave a pot of sacrificial wine to the gatekeepers to drink. The gatekeepers took the jug of wine and didn't know what to do with it. They felt that it would not be enough for so many people to drink from a single pot, so it would be better to give it to a single person, who would be able to drink from it. But who should they give it to? So, the gatekeepers discussed a good idea, that is, each person draws a snake on the ground, who first draws the pot of wine will be given to whom to drink. Everyone agreed on this.

The gatekeepers each took a small stick and began to draw the snake on the ground. One man drew quickly, and in a short time he had finished the snake, so he took the jug of wine. Just as he was about to drink, he caught a glimpse of the others who had not yet finished drawing the snake, so he took up the stick again in great triumph, saying to himself as he did so, "See if I will come and add a few more feet to the snake, they may not be finished either." As he said this, he drew feet to the drawn snake.

Unexpectedly, this person to draw the snake's feet is not yet finished, the hand of the wine pot will be next to a person snatched over, the original, the person's snake finished. The man who drew the snake's feet refused, saying, "I was the first to finish drawing the snake, so the wine should be mine to drink!" The man laughed and said, "You're still drawing it, but I've finished, so of course the wine is mine!" The man who drew the snake's feet argued, "I finished drawing it a long time ago, and I'm just adding a few more feet to the snake while there's still time." The man said, "The snake didn't have any feet in the first place, so if you want to add a few feet to it then go ahead and do it, you won't be able to drink the wine anyway!"

The man drank the wine nonchalantly, while the man who had painted the snake's feet looked at the wine that belonged to him and had now been taken away by someone else, and regretted it.

Some people are so self-righteous that they like to make a fuss and show themselves off, but they often end up making a mess of things, just like the man who drew the snake's foot.

Pharmaceutical merchants competing for wealth

There were three merchants from abroad all selling herbs at the same market. The first one specializes in the purchase of genuine and high-quality medicinal herbs from the source, according to the price of the sale price, the difference is not large, and never seek profiteering. In theory, this kind of honest businessman should be the first to get rich, but his business is depressed, store is cold, only a few know the root of the people to buy his medicine, can only barely make ends meet.

The second herb merchant is a buyer of high quality and low quality herbs, and sells them at a price that is determined by the customer's wishes, with a high price for the best products and a low price for the worst products. Because the choice is larger, the profit is big and small, so the business in general is still relatively good, the overall benefit is still relatively substantial. So, two years later, the drug dealer became a solid small fortune.

The third herbalist is specialized in acquiring a large number of inexpensive and poor-quality medicinal herbs, and then slightly processed, and then beautifully packaged, just like a brand-name boutique faction, but the price is not much higher than the other two, and sometimes the customer price or add a little bit of the requirements can often be met. Because "a cheap three love", the appearance is also quite classy, business is also flexible, so many people are scrambling to buy drugs, business is always particularly prosperous, never worry about sales. In less than two years, the businessman was so rich that he became known far and wide.

This story shows that different ways of doing business have different results. The first medicine merchant is honorable, the second is deplorable, and the third is shameful. Not only in the market, but also in other areas should be honest, flexible and constantly improving.

Bao Jun Shen

A man went out into the wilderness to fetch firewood, and as he passed through a swamp, he accidentally got a moose. He was very happy, but instead of taking the elk home immediately, he found a tree and tied the elk to it, intending to fetch it after he had finished his work.

Accidentally, more than 10 commercial vehicles were passing through the swamp. The men in the cars saw an elk tethered to a tree and no one around. So they walked over and took the elk away. When they had not gone far, they thought it would be a shame for them to get something for nothing, so they took a piece of dried salted fish from the car and put it on the spot where they had tethered the elk to make up for it, and then they left the place in peace.

After a long time, the woodcutter came to fetch the elk he had tethered, but the elk was gone from the tree, and there was a large dried salted fish where he had tethered the elk. He thought it was too strange. Looking around, he saw no one. There were no roads in the swamp, so where did the dried fish come from? Even if the fish popped up from the nearby lake, it should be fresh fish! A dry salted fish came out of nowhere, what is it if not a god? Thinking of this, the man respectfully picked up the dried salted fish and went home.

After returning home, the woodcutter told his wife and his neighbors about the incident, and they all found it very strange. Soon the story spread, and the more it was told, the more miraculous it became, and surprisingly it drew many people who came to pray. They went to the little tree in the swamp to ask for blessings and cure diseases and evils, and many of the prayers were fulfilled. In this way, people were convinced of the legend that the dried salted fish was a god. People put together money for the dry salted fish to build a sacrificial temple, the dry salted fish enshrined in it, in the temple set up as many as dozens of people dedicated to the witch, and give the dry salted fish sent a "Baojun God" honorary title ("Bao" is "salted fish" meaning). ("Bao" means "salted fish"). From then on, "Bao Jun God" temple God tent hanging high, bells and drums, incense. Praying people from hundreds of miles around inside and outside to come to the pilgrimage in an endless stream.

Several years passed, and one day a caravan of merchants passed by, and the man who had dried the salted fish sat in the car. When he passed in front of the temple, saw the lively scene and the temple door hanging high "Baojun God" flat, feel very strange, they get off the car to ask people about the reason. Someone told him the origin of this temple and "Baojun God", he could not help but say aloud: "This is my fish, is my hands a few years ago tied to a tree, where what Baojun God it!" He walked into the temple and went up to remove the dried salted fish, then left without looking back. The temple wizard and those who prayed were made to cry and laugh and were very embarrassed. From then on, no one came to worship the temple, and gradually, weeds grew around the temple. After some time, the temple collapsed.

The practice of blindly worshipping without careful consideration, based only on subjective assumptions and artificially fabricated myths, is ineffective, laborious, and foolish.

Si Yuan's hunting

Once upon a time, a man named Si Yuan found a deer while hunting at night. The deer was suddenly alert when it heard a sound coming from the wild. When it saw that Sihara was drawing his bow and aiming an arrow at him, it scattered its legs and ran off in an easterly direction. Undaunted, Sihara knew that the deer could not run fast in the dark, so he followed in hot pursuit and tried to frighten the deer by shouting loudly as he chased after it.

While this was going on, a group of hog chasers came from the west. When they heard Sihara's shouts, they thought someone from the east was blocking the pig, so they shouted along. Sihara's did not know what the group was shouting. Seeing that there were many people shouting there, he thought that they must also be after their prey, so he abandoned the deer he was chasing, ran in the direction of the shouting crowd, and found a place to hide halfway across the road. The group shouted and ran past where Sihara's was hidden.

After a while, Sihara's was surprised to find a white, fat, stupid beast not far from him. He was so excited that he thought he had gotten an auspicious and precious animal. Sihara pounced on it and caught it, then took the auspicious beast back home.

The Sihara clan took out all the fine and coarse food in the house to feed the precious beast. The beast was also very close to Sihara. As soon as he saw Sihara, he waved his head and tail and made a lovely "humming" sound at him, so Sihara became more and more fond of him.

A few days later, there was a fierce wind and torrential rain. The rain poured down on the white beast, washing away all the white dirt that had adhered to it. When Si Yuan took a closer look, he realized that it was the old pig that he had lost at home, but now he had brought it back home from the outside as a treasure.

Without thinking about it, the Si Yuan family gave up chasing after the deer, and the result was nothing. Therefore, the pursuit of truth is often not the truth for all those who follow the clouds and the voices of the people.

False erudition out of the foreign

Once upon a time there was a man in Wei, known for his erudition. A lot of curiosities and curiosities, it is said that as long as he looks at what he can know what is the dynasty of what apparatus, and explains the head is the way, everyone admires him, he is often proud of himself.

One day, he went for a walk by the river, and accidentally kicked something hard, which hurt his foot. He looked around while rubbing his foot, and it turned out to be a piece of copper. He immediately forgot his foot pain and picked it up to have a closer look. This copper is shaped like a wine cup, there is a hole on each side, the pattern engraved on it is brilliant, just like a rare antique.

The Wei man was so happy to have such a treasure that he decided to celebrate it with a feast. He set up a banquet, invited a lot of friends and relatives, and said to everyone: "I recently got a Xia and Shang Dynasty artifacts, and now let everyone enjoy it." So he carefully took out the bronze artifact, filled it with wine, and offered it to the guests. Everyone looked and looked, touched and touched, all pretended to know how to look at and praise, congratulate the master got a treasure. But the guests and hosts drink less than a round, unexpected things happened. A man from the mountain of hatred, once saw the Wei used to serve wine copper, asked in shock: "Where did you get this thing? It's a copper crotch protector, used by the people of Jiaozhi to protect their genitals." At this, the audience was in an uproar, and the Wei man was so ashamed that he immediately threw the copper vessel away, not daring to look at it again.

No coincidence. There was a man of letters in the place of Chu Qiu, whose reputation for erudition and knowledge was not less than that of the Wei. One day, he got a shape like a horse antique, built very exquisite, neck hair and tail are complete, just a hole in the back. Chu Qiu Wenren how can not think of what it is actually for, they asked around, but asked all over the neighborhood near and far many people, none of them recognize what this is. Only a claimed to be knowledgeable, learned people heard the news came to the door, studied some of this antique, and then slowly and methodically said: "Ancient ?tititititititititititititititititititititi, this is probably a horse-shaped cup of wine, right?" Chu Qiu Wenren heard the great joy, put it into the box collection, whenever a banquet to entertain guests, take out the wine.

On one occasion, the mountain man happened to pass by the home of this Chuqiu Wenren and saw him using this thing to hold wine, so he was shocked and said: "Where did you get this thing? This is a urinal, or what the noblewomen call a 'beast', how can it be used as a wine cup?" When he heard this, his face turned red to the roots of his ears, and he was so ashamed that he wished to dig a hole in the ground, and hurriedly threw the antique far away, and dared not look at it any more, like the Wei people. All the people of the world laughed at him for this.

This is the first time that I have ever seen a person who is so ignorant that he pretends to be knowledgeable, but in the end he is only deceiving himself and others.

Later to the top

When Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was in power, there were three famous ministers named Ji An, Gong Sun Hong and Zhang Tang. Although these 3 men were ministers under Emperor Wu at the same time, their situations were very different.

When Ji An came to the capital, he was already very senior and had a very high official position, while Gong Sun Hong and Zhang Tang were only minor officials at that time, and their positions were very low. However, due to their appropriate behavior, coupled with significant political achievements, therefore, Gongsun Hong and Zhang Tang were promoted step by step, until Gongsun Hong was awarded the marquis and worship as a minister, Zhang Tang also rose to the imperial historian, both of them ranked in the official position above the Kap Eun.

Ki An's performance was not as good as that of Gong Sun Hong and Zhang Tang, but he was narrow-minded, and he saw that the two officials who used to be far below him were in high positions, and he was very unhappy, and he always wanted to find a chance to talk to the emperor about it.

One day after the court, the civil and military ministers retired one after another, the Han Emperor slowly paced out of the palace, and was walking towards the flower path leading to the imperial garden. Ji An hurriedly stepped forward and said to Emperor Wu, "Your Majesty, there is something I would like to say to you, I wonder if I am interested?"

Han Wu Di turned back and stopped, saying, "I don't know what it is, why don't you tell me?"

Ki An said, "Your Majesty, have you ever seen farmers stacking firewood? They always lay the firewood that was brought in first on the bottom, and put the one that was brought in later on the top instead; don't you think that the firewood that was brought in first is too aggrieved?"

Han Wu Di looked at Ji An with some puzzlement and said, "What do you mean by all this?"

Ki An said, "You see, Gong Sun Hong, Zhang Tang, those small officials, in terms of seniority and foundation are after me, but now they are one after another, the position is much higher than me, Your Majesty, you promote officials is not just the same as that pile of firewood and grass farmers?"

A few words made Emperor Wu of Han very unhappy, and he felt that it was unreasonable for Ji An to look at things so simply and one-sidedly. He wanted to criticize Ji An, but he thought that Ji An was a veteran minister, so he had to suppress his anger, said nothing, and waved his sleeve. After that, Emperor Wu of Han turned his back on Ji An, and his official position remained unchanged.

This is the law of development of objective things, and it depends on which angle we look at this issue. It is not desirable for Ji An to think that the promotion of talents must be based on seniority, and to oppose the promotion of those who come later.

The Rooster and the Goose

There was a man named Tian Rao, who had been working beside the Duke of Lu for several years, but the Duke of Lu didn't understand Tian Rao's ambition, and he always treated Tian Rao as an ordinary man. Tian Rao's talents could not be utilized, so he decided to leave Ai Duke Lu and go to another country.

Tian Rao said to Duke Lu, "I intend to leave you and fly away like a wild goose."

Duke Lu did not understand what Tian Rao meant and asked, "Aren't you doing well here? Why do you want to leave?"

Tian Rao said, "Your Majesty, you have often seen that male chicken! You see it wearing a big red crown on its head, very elegant; its feet have long sharp claws, very heroic; it is not afraid to face the enemy dare to fight, extraordinarily brave; it sees food always 'Ge Ge' shouting to greet his companions to come to enjoy, especially benevolent; it is also loyal to their duties, get up early to report the time never miss, extremely trustworthy. Although the rooster has so many advantages, but the king still carelessly ordered it to be cooked and eaten. What is the reason for this? Because the rooster often in your side, you are used to seeing it every day, accustomed to it, its glory in the eyes of the king will be eclipsed, the king can not feel it those outstanding advantages and talents. The wild goose, on the other hand, flew from thousands of miles away and landed on the edge of the king's pond, where it pecked and ate the fish and turtles in the king's pond; and landed in the king's field, destroying the king's crops. Even though the wild goose did not have all the advantages of the rooster, the king still valued the wild goose. Why? Because the goose came from a faraway place, the king had a sense of wonder about it, and everything it did was considered by the king to be very great. So, please, Great King, let me also go far away like the Hong Geese."

Duke Lu Ai said, "Please don't go away, I would like to write down all that you have said."

Tian Rao said, "You think me plain and uninteresting, and do not see any great use in leaving me behind; even if you write down my words, they will serve no purpose." So Tian Rao left Lu for Yan.

The king of Yan made Tian Rao the minister of state, and Tian Rao was given the opportunity to show his skill in ruling the country, and after three years, Tian Rao had made the country of Yan well governed, the country rich and stable, and the borders safe and free from thieves. The king of Yan was very pleased with Tian Rao's reputation.

When Duke Lu Ai found out about this, he sighed and regretted that he had not been able to keep Tian Rao. For this reason, he lived alone for three months to reflect y; he also lowered his standard of food and clothing to show his remorse. Duke Lu lamented from the bottom of his heart, "It was due to his failure to know people well that Tian Rao left me in the past, resulting in today's regret. I wish Tian Rao could come back to me again, but I know it is already difficult."

In fact, there are many such things in life. People tend to turn a blind eye to the excellent talents around them, and just over-ambitious and worship the introduced talents, thinking that they are the ones who have the real talent. Especially as a leader, should be good at discovering the talent around, know people well, do not give up the near and far, let go of the talent that would have been at hand.

Each has his own strengths

Gan Wu went on a mission to the state of Qi to persuade the king of Qi, and after a few days of traveling to a large river, Gan Wu was unable to move forward, so he had to turn to the boatman for help.

The boatman rowed his boat close to the shore, and when he saw that Gan Wu was dressed as a scholar, he asked, "What are you doing crossing the river?"

Gan Wu said, "I am going to Qi to lobby the king of Qi on behalf of my ruler."

The boatman pointed to the river with full concern and said, "This river is nothing more than a tiny slit, and you can't even cross it on your own, so how can you act as a lobbyist for your king?"

Gan Wu retorted to the boatman, "You are not right. You don't understand that everything in the world has its own reasoning, its own laws, its own strengths and its own weaknesses. For example, a conscientious man is loyal and honest, he can assist the king, but he can't lead the army for the king to fight; a thousand-mile horse travels a thousand miles a day and is valued by all the knights in the world, but if it is put indoors to catch mice, it is not as useful as a kitten. The sword of the dry general is a rare treasure in the world, it is sharp as iron, but if you give it to a carpenter to cut wood, it is not as good as an ordinary axe. Just like you and me, if you want to say that swinging oars and rowing a boat, traveling on the river, I am indeed far better than you; but if you want to talk about traveling to large and small countries, lobbying the monarchs of various countries, can you compare with me?"

The boatman was speechless when he heard Gan Wu's words, and he seemed to have gained a lot of knowledge. He heartily invited Gan Wu into the boat and sent him across the river.

It would be too one-sided to just take one's own strengths and accuse others of their weaknesses.

Sorry about the word limit.
