"MGM MACAU Butterfly Dance" consists of a number of display installations, including the "Butterfly Pavilion", a giant windmill steel tree, a large-scale reed vine sculpture and water balloons, etc. It was created by MGM MACAU in collaboration with renowned U.S. installation designer Stephen Stefano, who has been working with MGM MACAU for many years on the project. The collaboration between MGM MACAU and renowned American installation designer Stephen Stefanou has created a butterfly paradise that combines the power of nature and high-end technology through Stefanou's creative magic, the skillful craftsmanship of artisans from around the globe, and the beauty of more than 100 species of butterflies.
The Butterfly Pavilion, located in the middle of the Grande Pra?a, is 26 feet in diameter and 21 feet in height, and its floor is covered with green wheatgrass in bright colors. People can have "encounters" with over a hundred species of butterflies from different countries and regions, including China, Malaysia, Africa and South America, in the Butterfly Pavilion at the same time and in the same place. "The Butterfly Pavilion is inspired by the late Buckminster Fuller, the famous American architect and the father of the short-range dome. Inspired by the dome building of the late Buckminster Fuller, the famous American architect and father of the short-range dome, the pavilion is equipped with a full range of***60 iPad screens, which bring a dreamlike visual effect to the artistic images of butterflies dancing and dancing. You can also experience the marvelous power of nature through the large-scale reed vine sculpture by British reed vine sculptor Tom Hare.
The Butterfly Pavilion is surrounded by three 3,000-pound, 16-kilometer-long steel windmill trees, with hundreds of tiny windmills spinning amidst the flowers and butterflies, accompanied by a water balloon in the middle of the plaza and the sound of water flowing through the trees. From the curved white benches, you can look at the magnificent architecture of Canopy Plaza, listen to the melodious music, and look up to see the giant decorations of monarch butterflies, paradise butterflies, and bird-winged butterflies fluttering in the mid-air of the plaza, and the glittering butterfly bodies reflect the colorfulness of the Butterfly Pavilion.
"MGM MACAU Butterfly Pavilion" is on display from May to October. During the exhibition, the public can observe the feathering process of various butterflies outside the Butterfly Feathering Room, and even have the chance to see the butterflies break out of their chrysalises with their own eyes, as well as have a "butterfly-to-butterfly" exchange with butterfly expert, Dr. Wu Yun, to learn more about this group of endemic species or subspecies of the beautiful colorful butterflies.
