Background of Composition

In 1972, Shi Guangnan wanted to compose a song for his wife, Hong Ruding, as a birthday gift for her, for which he had been brewing for a long time. After composing the song, Shi Guangnan wrote a letter to his friend Han Wei, who worked at the Tianjin Song and Dance Drama Theater, to ask for help because he didn't have the right lyrics for the song. At that time, Han Wei was about to go swimming in the Haihe River and received the letter when he passed through the communication room.

So he took the letter to the riverside, and after seeing the draft of the song sent by Shi Guangnan, he hummed and sang it by the riverside, and the more he sang, the more excited he became, and he couldn't even care about swimming, and he filled out the lyrics while standing by the riverside. After finishing the lyrics, he immediately sent them back to Shi Guangnan. After receiving Han Wei's lyrics, Shi Guangnan sent it to the Central Symphony Orchestra for Luo Tianchan to try out before finalizing it.

When recording the song, Luo Tianchan put a lot of effort into designing and singing it, especially in the treatment of the subtext of the chorus, the rhythm and the transition.
