Jerseys 1 As of early 2010, ***three Argentine players have made more than 100 appearances for the national team, Diego Simeone (106), Roberto Ayala (115) and Zanetti (136 as of October 09). The Argentine national team record holder for goals is Batistuta with 56 goals, while in second and third place are Crespo (36) and Maradona (34). Among other pennants, Argentina won the World Youth Cup six times (1979, 1995, 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2007) and the Confederations Cup in 1992. In November 2008, Diego Maradona became the head coach of the Argentine national team, starting a new era for the team. After leading the team to three consecutive victories to open the tournament, Argentina went into a slump in World Cup qualifying and was on the verge of failing to qualify. In the final two rounds, Argentina beat Peru and Uruguay to secure a place in the World Cup in South Africa. In this Argentina team, the top star is undoubtedly Lionel Messi. As the 2009 European Ballon d'Or winner and World Footballer of the Year, he is widely expected to have a great performance in the World Cup, and Argentina's achievement depends largely on his play. And captain Mascherano and others will give Messi support. There is a huge amount of variability in the Argentine national team today, and it has its roots in Maradona. In the lineup selection, the old horse has a great deal of arbitrariness and uncertainty, during the World Cup qualifiers Argentina **** as many as 50 players have been on the field, a large part of which is in Maradona's tenure called in. Before the World Cup in South Africa, Argentina needs to finalize its lineup as soon as possible to create a fighting whole.

[edit]Team history

First match

Jersey 2Argentina's first match was against the Uruguayan national team on May 16, 1901 (held in Montevideo, which ended in a 3-2 debut for Argentina). As there were no international matches at that time, Argentina had to play some friendly matches, and of course the opponents were limited to South American teams. Due to the distance and the First World War, Argentina was not able to compete with European teams. It wasn't until 1928 that Argentina participated in the Olympic Games in Holland, which was the first time Argentina competed against a European team. Argentina drew 0-0 with Portugal in the first match and eventually won the silver medal, losing to Uruguay in the final. 1921, 1925, 1927, 1929 Argentina contacted won four Copa América championships, which was also their first four Copa América, the 1930 World Cup, Argentina was also a great success, they managed to break into the final, and interestingly enough, it was still Uruguay who was in the final. , which Argentina eventually lost 2-4, when a total **** of 93,000 fans watched the game.

First World Cup title

In 1974, David Bracuto, the president of the Argentine Football Federation, appointed Menotti as the head coach of the Argentine national team, and in 1975 Menotti led Argentina's U21 team to win the Toulon Cup, with Argentina beating France 1-0 in the final. Three years later, Argentina hosted the 1978 FIFA World Cup, but at this point Menotti and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) sparked over a debate about whether or not to let Maradonama leave the national team. The Argentine national team, led by striker Leo Kempes' team won the 1978 World Cup, Argentina's first World Cup title, with Mario Kempes scoring for Argentina in the final. Kempes scored two goals for Argentina to help the home team beat the Netherlands to win the title.

"Hand of God"

South Africa World Cup JerseyIn 1983, the president of the Argentine Football Federation at this time was Julio Humberto Grondona, and Carlos Salvador Bilardo became the new head coach of the Argentine national team under his appointment. Bilardo's 3-5-2 formation appealed to and gained the confidence of the Argentine FA. Bilardo did not disappoint. The first match was a 1-0 win against rivals Brazil, followed by a 3-1 win against Germany. This was followed by a 3-1 win over Germany. More admirably, he appointed the young Diego Maradona as captain of the Argentine national team, a decision that had a profound effect on Argentina's future development. 1986 World Cup qualification in Mexico, Argentina's last match against Peru, and finally Argentina managed to enter the final round. In the first match at the World Cup, Argentina beat South Korea 3-1. The second game 1-1 draw with world champions Italy, and the last game 2-0 defeat of Bulgaria. This way Argentina managed to qualify with 2 wins and 1 loss. In the second round, Argentina beat Uruguay 1-0. By the semi-finals it beat England 2-1, with both goals coming from Maradona. Maradona's first goal became one of the most controversial goals in the world. After the game, Maradona also admitted that the first goal was scored with the "Hand of God". From then on, Maradona's controversial goal gained a proprietary name "Hand of God". Maradona's second goal, however, has been recognized as the best goal of the 20th century - Maradona took the ball from midfield, dribbled past five English players, and scored the final goal. In the semi-final, Argentina faced Belgium, and once again Maradona used 2 goals in the second half to help his team win and advance to the final. In the final, Argentina took a 2-0 lead over West Germany in the first half, but the resilient Germans quickly equalized in the second half. With 84 minutes to go, Maradona delivered a superb pass that Bruchaga picked up and scored with ease to give Argentina the Cup.

Disappointment 1990

Team photo 1987, the first year after the 1986 World Cup, Argentina hosted the Copa América, but disappointingly, Argentina was beaten 0-1 by Uruguay in the semifinals, and then 1-2 against Colombia in the third-fourth-place match, with the hosts finishing fourth.1990 At the World Cup in Italy, Argentina surprisingly lost their opening match, 0-1 to Cameroon. Fortunately, the Soviet Union was defeated 2-0 in the second match. In the final game of the group stage, Argentina drew 1-1 with Romania, barely advancing to the second round. Going into the second round, they welcomed a strong Brazilian team, and Claudio Caniggia took a great pass from Maradona and scored an easy breakaway goal, helping Argentina to a final victory of 1-0. In the quarterfinals, Argentina beat Yugoslavia, but on penalties. In the semifinals, Argentina's opponent was host Italy, the two teams drew 1-1, but the two teams entered the penalty shootout, the Argentine goalkeeper's brilliant saves to help Argentina into the final. At this time, the Argentineans were immersed in ecstasy, because he many probably defend the title successfully. In the final, they once again met with West Germany, but unlike last time, West Germany crushed the Argentine's dream of defending their title with a penalty kick. Argentina ended this World Cup with regret.

Scandal

The 1994 World Cup was held in the U.S. at a time when Basile was Argentina's manager and when Maradona was still captain. In the group stage of the World Cup, Argentina did very well in the first two games, beating Greece and Nigeria 4-0 and 2-1 respectively. However, after the match with Nigeria, the World Football Federation announced that Maradona had failed a drug test and was banned from the World Cup. Argentina played very poorly after losing their number one player. Beaten by Bulgaria on the third, but 2 wins and 1 loss was enough to qualify. Beaten again by Romania on the knockout stage. Didn't qualify for the quarter-finals.

2006 World Cup

In 2004 Pekerman became the new coach of Argentina. Pekerman had led the team to three World Youth Championships: 1995 Qatar, 1997 Malay Archipelago and 2001 Argentina three World Youth Championships. Meanwhile, Pekerman had a good performance in the 2005 Confederations Cup, where he led the team to the final, but was beaten 1-4 by Brazil. 2006 World Cup, Argentina was placed in the Group of Death, with the Ivory Coast, Serbia, and the Netherlands. Argentina won their first match against Ivory Coast, then beat Serbia 6-0 (with Lionel Messi playing very well), and in the last match of the group, Argentina was drawn 0-0 by Holland, and finally broke out of the Group of Death. In the second round, Argentina's first opponent was Mexico, which was the toughest opponent since the start of the tournament. The two teams drew 1-1 in the 90-minute match, and went into extra time, where Rodriguez's miraculous goal at the last moment helped Argentina get the victory. Going into the quarterfinals, Argentina welcomed hosts Germany, and after extra time, still tied 1-1, the match went to penalties, but this time the magic performance came from German goalkeeper Lehmann, whose saves sent Germany into the semifinals.

[edit]World Cup history

As of the 06 World Cup in Germany, Argentina*** had played in the final round of a major tournament 19 times, and the World Cup in South Africa would be their 20th and 10th consecutive appearance. Argentina have reached the World Cup title final four times and won in 1978 and 1986, while coming second in 1930 and 1990. Argentina's first good World Cup finish came in 1930, when they reached the final in the inaugural World Cup in history, finishing runners-up to hosts Uruguay in a 2-4 loss. And when the team shone again at the World Cup, it was 1978, when Argentina, led by skipper Menotti and ace striker Kempes, won the tournament on home soil. Maradona's surge propelled Argentina to a new peak in World Cup history. After the disappointment of 1982, the king of the ball in 1986, as captain of the team to win the championship, he scored five goals, five assists, the best player of the tournament, and also left in the match with England, the "hand of God" and the classic goal of five consecutive passes. 1990, Maradona and Argentina once reached the final of the World Cup in Italy, the final of the World Cup. In 1990, Maradona and Argentina reached the final of the World Cup in Italy, but lost to West Germany and finished second. With Maradona's withdrawal from the 94 World Cup in the United States due to a drug test controversy, Argentina has had few breakthroughs in recent years. 98 lost to Holland in the quarterfinals, and even failed to get out of the group in '02. In the last World Cup, Argentina reached the quarterfinals of the 8, but lost on penalties to the host Germany in the quarterfinals, and exited the tournament.

Guillette's history

Guillette is one of the most famous players in the world. /p>

Guillermo Stabile

First top scorer in World Cup history 1930 Golden Boot Killer Guillermo Stabile, the legendary Argentine striker, was the first top scorer in World Cup history, as well as the first to score a hat-trick. Guillermo Stabile Stabile was born in Buenos Aires on January 17, 1905, and began his playing career in 1920 for the Argentine Huracán team, where he played for 10 years. In 1930, after excelling in the domestic league, Stabile was selected to play for Argentina in their first World Cup in Uruguay. At the start of the tournament, Stabile was not a member of the Argentinean starting lineup and was a spectator in the first match against France. On July 19, 1930, Stabile scored three goals in Argentina's 6-3 victory over Mexico, making him the first player in World Cup history to score a hat-trick, and three days later scored three more goals against Chile, making him the hottest striker in the tournament. Argentina finished second in the tournament, and Stabile scored eight goals in four matches, winning the Golden Boot and becoming the first top scorer in World Cup history. Immediately after his retirement, Stabile became the coach of the Argentine national team, coaching from 1939 until 1960, **** led the team to play 127 matches, is one of the history of eight coaches to coach the national team to reach 100 games. During his coaching career, he led Argentina to six Copa America titles (1941, 45, 46, 47, 55, 57). Stabile died on December 27, 1966, at the age of 61 years.

Daniel Passarella

History's No. 1 goal-scoring defender Argentina's iron-clad captain Born in the Chacabuco district of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Daniel Alberto Passarella was born on May 25, 1953, and began playing in 1973 with the Sarmiento youth team, before joining Argentina's River Plate in 1974,... In 1982, Passarella joined Fiorentina in Serie A, and later played for Inter Milan for 2 years before returning to River Plate in 1988, where he finished his career in 1989. Pasarella The pinnacle of Pasarella's playing career was the 1978 World Cup, when at the age of 25 he was captain of Argentina, and his dominance and influence inspired the entire team. With Passarella at the helm of the defense, Luque, Ardiles in the midfield, and of course Kempes scoring goal after goal, Argentina won the World Cup on home soil, and Passarella was nicknamed "El Gran Capitan" (The Great Captain). In the 1982 World Cup, Passarella's Argentina team played poorly and was eliminated after losing to Brazil and Italy in the second stage. Passarella scored a direct free-kick against Italy, but it did not help, and this tournament was Passarella's last World Cup, and in 1986 he was injured prior to the tournament and withdrew from the same Argentina team that went on to win the title. In 1989, Passarella retired from River Plate and went on to coach the Argentine national team after the 1994 World Cup, where he took over as manager, and was known for his iron bowl rule, requiring his players to cut their hair, which led to Redondo's withdrawal from the team. In the 1998 World Cup, Argentina reached the last eight, after being eliminated by the Netherlands, Passarella resigned, and later served as the Uruguayan national team head coach, among other things, in 2003 had led Monterrey to win the Mexican League title.

Diego Maradona

Wonder of the World The King of the Century On October 30, 1960, Diego Armando Maradona was born in the Vila Fiorito district of Buenos Aires. At the age of 3, Maradona received a leather-made soccer ball from his father, and he first kicked this ball with his left foot (relevant information taken from Maradona's autobiography "EL DIEGO"), which was the first time that the greatest left foot in history touched a soccer ball, and 23 years later, this foot poked the ball into the England's gate, creating the most magical goal in the history of the World Cup. Maradona On August 14, 1975, at the age of 14, Maradona was promoted to the adult team of the youth club and was included in the list of professional matches of the first division! Maradona's first number in his career was 16, and it was on October 20, 1975, 10 days before his 16th birthday, when Maradona made his debut as a substitute in the First Division against Córdoba. During his five years with the Argentine youth team, Maradona played 166 matches, scoring 116 goals, and in 1981 he moved to Boca Juniors, where he scored another 28 goals in 40 matches. In the summer of 1982, Maradona moved to Barcelona, where he even managed to make Real Madrid fans cheer for a Barcelona player. In the 2 years of playing for Barcelona, Maradona still left a scorecard of 38 goals in 58 games. In the 1986 World Cup, Brazil and France were the favorites to win the title, but Argentina had Maradona. Against England, people witnessed the myth of one man beating a team. The data says it all, in the seven games of this tournament, Argentina **** scored 14 goals, Maradona scored five goals and assisted five times, one person achieved 10 of them! In addition Maradona also holds the record for the most fouls (53) in a single World Cup. The 61,381 spectators at the World Cup 1/8 final between Argentina and Brazil on June 24, 1990 captured a glimpse of that power in a single moment. In the 81st minute, Maradona first shifted the line in the center circle to shake Alem?o, then took the ball to avoid Dunga's shoveling, and then used a fake to break through the oncoming Rocha. At this point, the three remaining Brazilian defenders (Galvio, Blanco and Gomes) surprisingly disregarded the formation and collectively closed in on Maradona! Next, a pass - and an easy goal for Caniggia - and Brazil are out.

Gabriel Batistuta

The "BATIGOL" of his life Born in the town of Alasnde, Argentina, on February 1, 1969, (Gabriel Omar Batistuta) loved hunting as a child and began to play under the influence of his uncle Melchi, an amateur player. He began playing soccer under the influence of his uncle Melch (an amateur player), and while attending high school, he made a name for himself on the varsity team of the Escuela de Energía, and was picked up by scouts during a regional league match. After playing for Platensee for 2 years, he was scouted by Griffa, and in 1987, at the age of 18, he officially joined the Newells Old Boys, where he began his soccer career. Batistuta In 1991, Batistuta was selected for the Argentine national team for the first time, with new manager Basile giving him his utmost confidence. In that year's Copa America, Argentina won the championship and Batty was elected top scorer. After the 1994 World Cup group, Argentina lost 2-3 to Romania and was eliminated from the World Cup. Batty scored 4 goals in 4 matches in that tournament, but he was not Maradona and he failed to save Argentina. In the 1998 World Cup, Batty scored another 5 goals, but Bergkamp's fatal strike ended Argentina. In 2002, Batty's last World Cup appearance, he scored the winning goal against Nigeria, but then the team lost to England and was drawn by Sweden, unexpectedly failing to get out of the group. After the draw with Sweden, the 33-year-old Batty shed tears on the sidelines, which was the most moving and final memory left by a generation of war heroes in the World Cup.

[Editorial]Lionel Messi

Lionel Andrés Messi, born on June 24, 1987, is a famous Argentine footballer who is now a striker for Barcelona as well as an Argentine international footballer, and has been dubbed by the general public as "the new Maradona". "On December 1, 2009, Messi won the 2009 Ballon d'Or for leading Barcelona to the La Liga, Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League treble in the 08-09 season, beating Crowe.
