The legend of plum lake

Legend has it that a long time ago, Meizi Lake was just a river, called Meizi River, with weeds on both sides. There lived a father and a daughter on the shore. The girl's name was Meihua. I heard that they came from far away. The plum blossom girl followed her father to plant many plum blossom saplings on the shore and took good care of them every day. Soon, all the plum trees have beautiful flowers, attracting many people. There is a bully in Maidi village in the upper reaches of Meihe River, who often bullies the people. The bully took a fancy to the beautiful and kind plum blossom girl and forced plum blossom to be his little wife many times. After Meihua refused, the bully killed Meihua's father. The plum blossom girl was heartbroken at the loss of her only relative. In order to resist, she jumped into the deep pool of Meizi River with tears in her eyes. "Life is worse than death." She never gave in and defended her virginity with death. The plum blossom girl left, and the petals of those plum blossoms on the shore suddenly fell. People say it's petal rain and flower tears. Before long, the stems of plum trees gradually died, and only a few survived with Miss Mei. Some people say that the plum blossom girl did not die, but became a fairy and flew to the sky; Some people say that she became a mermaid and lived at the bottom of Plum Lake. During the rainy season, lucky people can still see her swim out of the water. Some people say that the plum blossom fairy goes down to the pine forest near Meihu every year to collect wild flowers.
