The story The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

The Giant and the Spring

It was a cold, dark night, and the snow and ice froze everything.? A fierce wind blew across the land, swirling snow all over the sky. A house built on a small hill shone with a faint light, like a lighthouse in the snowy sea, bringing warmth and direction. The owner of the house, whom everyone called "The Giant,"

Besides being taller than the others, he also read a lot of books, and the people in the village could not ask him any questions

"Why does the winter go slowly, and why does the spring come late? " The giant muttered to himself, and could not help but doze off. A cold breeze, drilled through the crack of the window, woke the giant who was just about to dream. "Snap snap snap," the giant opened his eyes and saw a bird knocking on the window

"It's so windy and snowy out there, let it in!" The giant opened the window and he rubbed his eyes in surprise. He found a child hanging from a tree branch, the child had only a cloak on him and appeared to be about to freeze.? The giant rushed to bring the child inside

The child shook his head and shook his cloak, and many new leaves grew on the plants in the house. The giant made something for the child to eat and poured hot water for him to bathe in. The child soaked comfortably in the water, and a smile appeared on his face. With this smile, all the flowers in the house bloomed. The giant realized that the child was "Spring"

The giant spoke to Spring, and Spring answered with a smile. The giant picked up a book and told the child a story. After listening to the story, Spring fell asleep. The giant looked at Spring in his arms, he had never been so happy, he was so excited that he stayed up all night

The next morning, the children of the village saw the giant's house, surrounded by a golden light. The children were so curious that they all ran and lay on the windows to peek in. The children realized that there was a little man inside the house, and wherever the little man went, there was light. They were all mesmerized, when suddenly there came a loud roar, "What are you doing here?" The giant said loudly, "This is my house, and no one is allowed to come here without my say-so! All of you ill-mannered brats, go away!"

The giant walked into the house and closed the doors and windows with a bang. He also locked Spring's cloak into a box with a click and set it on a high shelf. Spring knew that the giant did not want him to leave, but if he did not go out, spring will not come to earth, how the flowers bloom? How will the flowers bloom? How will the trees sprout? How would the river thaw?

Spring took advantage of the giant's rest, moved a few books, piled them up, and then stepped on them and climbed up the leaves. He had just climbed to the chest when the giant found him

The giant took the key and hid it. Without his cloak, Spring could not walk. To make Spring happy, the giant made a toy wooden horse with his hands. What child doesn't like toys, he will know how much I love him

But Spring just shook his head and looked out the window. The giant asked Spring, "Will you hate me if I refuse to let you go?" Spring shook

The giant said, "I didn't mean to, after you came, I realized what happiness means, I'm afraid that if you leave, I won't be able to bear the pain of loneliness

Spring shook his head again, pointing his finger out the window. The giant looked along the spring's hand: the white earth, not a bit of movement. The villagers who liked to come to him to ask questions, the children who used to come to go trick-or-treating, they were all gone

The giant felt a pang of heart

He turned his head, and when Spring looked him in the eye, he felt a sudden surge of strength.

The giant said to himself, "You are taller than others, but your heart is small instead. You lock Spring at home

It's freezing outside and you can't get out, it's the same as locking yourself in

The giant heard himself and froze

His heart was like ice in the sunshine, melting fast

He took out his cloak and sewed the holes, stitch by stitch, before he gave it to Spring to put on

The giant opened his window and Spring smiled at him, as if to say. It seemed to say, "I will be back, my friend."

The snow stopped falling, the air became fresh and soft, and the sun shone through the dark clouds on Spring.

Look! Spring came back to the man

Every four years afterward, spring would come to the giant's house to rest for a

When spring came, the giant had the most beautiful flower

garden in the world.
