Which route should I take to go to Lhasa by bike?

I have been to Tibet several times, crossing the Sichuan-Tibet north-south line, the Qinghai-Tibet line and the Yunnan-Tibet line. The following are my own feelings and experiences.

There are two routes from Beijing to Tibet, one is the Qinghai-Tibet line and the other is the Sichuan-Tibet line. First-time cyclists are advised to take the Qinghai-Tibet Line.

The section from Beijing to Qinghai is densely populated and the scenery is average. It is suggested that the landlord check the car to Golmud, take the train to Golmud himself, take out his bike and start riding again.

Golmud-Lhasa section is the highest mountain highway in the world. Leave Golmud 100 km and go to Kunlun Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4767 meters. Even the average elevation of other sections is 4500 meters, which is a test for some people who may have altitude sickness. Personally, altitude sickness is more of a psychological problem.

Golmud-Lhasa section 1 16 1 km, including 6 17 km in Qinghai. The whole line is a national secondary highway trunk line, with subgrade width of about 10 m and gradient less than 7%. Compared with the Sichuan-Tibet line, the road conditions are very flat, all asphalt roads, and cars can easily run more than 80 kilometers per hour.

There is no problem in eating and living all the way, as long as the landlord designs the daily cycling mileage, don't miss the accommodation.

Personally, I think I have to bring:

Oxygen (it may not be necessary, but it is used to save lives at critical moments);

Drugs:

Drugs for preventing and treating colds (for people in plain areas, a small cold above the plateau may be fatal), trauma drugs such as band-AIDS, drugs for treating diarrhea such as furazolidone, and drugs for preventing and treating altitude sickness (such as Rhodiola);

Clothing:

Breathable and rainproof clothes, comfortable shoes and socks;

Protective equipment:

Sunglasses, sun hat;

Catering:

Enough water and a meal for half a day;

Tools:

Repair tools (especially tire repair), air pump, lighting,

In addition, I also brought some fruits and a sleeping bag (10 degree).

Nothing else matters, such as sanitary products, clothes, certificates, etc. Just like a normal trip.

By the way, where is the landlord going to Tibet? Some places need to apply for border passes, so you'd better make plans early.

In addition, RMB is definitely needed, but not too much.

If the landlord has a lot of personal appliances, bring a wiring board (I will bring one, otherwise it will be difficult to charge at night: mobile phone, notebook computer, digital camera, digital camera companion, GPS, razor, headlights and so on. , all need to be recharged)

There is no cell phone signal in most areas of the Qinghai-Tibet line (and the Sichuan-Tibet line).

It usually takes 9- 12 days for people riding the Qinghai-Tibet line.

Precautions:

Stop exercising 15 days before departure;

10- 15 the day before departure, I started taking anti-altitude sickness drugs (that's what I did. I don't know if it works, but it's psychological comfort! );

Never ride a new car, know the condition of the car;

A bag of Radix Isatidis every day on the road to prevent colds (I drink a bag every night, again, I don't know if it is useful or not);

Be sure to eat and sleep well on the road, and eat fruits and vegetables every day if possible;

Don't take a bath reluctantly;

Don't worry;

Don't ride reluctantly;

Slow down your movements, thoughts and mentality! Even if you are an old man, don't go too far!

There seems to be nothing else. The key is to be healthy!
