Water Margin is a 43-episode television series co-produced by China Central Television (CCTV) and the China Television Drama Production Center (CDPC), based on a novel of the same name by Shi Nai'an of the Ming Dynasty. Directed by Zhang Shaolin, it was adapted by Yang Qiguang , Ran Ping and starred Li Xuejian, Zhou Nomang, Zang Jinsheng, Ding Haifeng and Zhao Xiaorui.

The drama tells the story of the Song Dynasty, when Emperor Huizong was in a state of mediocrity, the traitors were in power, the government was corrupt, and the corrupt officials framed the loyal and good people, making the people's lives unbearable, and many upright and good people were forced to fight against the government, and eventually the 108 heroes gathered at Liangshanbo, but then Song Jiang's surrender to the court made a sensational peasant uprising finally come to a failure.
