Yingrenshi Village in Shiyan is situated at the foot of the western side of Yangtai Mountain. The village is located at the foot of Yangtai Mountain on the west side of the mountain. Unlike the village of Nanyuan, which was previously visited by the old people of Nanyuan, who made their living by fishing and raising oysters, and lived off the sea, the old people of Yingrenshi Village were typically living off the mountain. From the village of more than dozens of ancient litchi, longan, mango trees, good at dealing with the land should be people stone villagers apparently in addition to food crops, but also a large number of planting southern fruit trees to improve their living conditions.
Because of its remoteness, not much of the current Yingrenshi village land is planned for development, so they can build community parks for the villagers without pressure. Like the parks in the city, there are hiking trails, fitness and recreation areas, and the elderly and children have a place to go for recreation, walking their children, playing chess, square dancing, and a peaceful place to be.
In the community park opposite a piece of ancient trees in the sky of the open space, get close to see, the ancient trees surrounded by a parking lot. Roughly, there are about 15 to 20 ancient mango trees with a chest circumference of more than 2 meters. Most of them are in good condition and have dense crowns, but a few of them have had their side branches sawed off because of their impact on the demarcation of parking spaces. Judging from the thickness of the trunks, this grove of trees should have been planted at the same time. But the strange thing is that there is only one tree under the government listing (No. 02050142), the catalog of identical coordinates 39, 40, 41, 43 mango trees are not found. At the same time, the villagers said that there are no such patches of ancient trees elsewhere in the village. I guess it should be the monument of the ancient tree was moved and removed.
When we got out of the parking lot and continued to the village, we accidentally stepped into a cluster of old houses in Yingrenshi Village amidst a bunch of towering modern houses. Most of the currently habitable rooms are rented to outsiders. The houses are overall dilapidated and some are labeled as dangerous buildings prohibiting habitation.
Along the street side of the old houses, we found the ancestral hall of Yingrenshi Village: Aiting Liu Gongzhi, which has been renovated as a whole. In front of the ancestral hall, a crooked-necked bushy peach tree, with a trunk chest circumference of less than 50 centimeters at eye level, is listed below as a 125-year old tree of the third level (No. 02050133). The cataloged pandanus tree of the same age and coordinates (No. 02050134) was not found on the site.
We found Mr. Liu, a staff member at the village's property leasing company, and talked to him about the history. After learning the reason for our visit, he told us that Yingrenshi Village is mainly inhabited by Hakka people from Meizhou with the surname of Liu, two brothers from different houses thus the village currently has 2 ancestral halls. He kindly led us to another ancestral hall: the Liu's Shengzhen Ancestral Hall. This ancestral hall has fallen into disrepair over the years. Through the doorway, you can see the debris inside.
At the intersection not far from the shrine, there are two less conspicuous longan trees, one of which is like a dying old man, the main trunk seems to have lost its vitality, and only some green leaves on the top of the side branch show that it is still alive (No. 02050137). The other one is a few meters away in front of a bungalow and is being used by the owner of the house to build a pergola (No. 02050135). If it weren't for the stone monument under the tree, I would find it hard to believe that they are old men who have stood in Yingrenshi village for more than a century.
Then we went around to the back of the ancestral hall, roadside weeds, Mr. Liu pointed out to us that this used to be an ancient tree, two years ago a rainstorm branches broken and then died so far (No. 02050138). The old tree's current main trunk is about 3 meters, the remaining thick branches are densely packed with climbing plants winding, occupation. The passing of the old life declares the continuation of the new life.
Mr. Liu vaguely remembers that when he was a child, in this position behind the ancestral hall, planted a row of banyan trees and bamboo. It is presumed that should be the same age as the ancestral hall, that is, 200 years of history, and now there are just two remaining trees. With this in mind, we turned into the backyard of a dilapidated bungalow next to the shrine, only to find an ancient banyan tree crammed into the cramped space, with no monument underneath, which means that it has not been entered into the list of old trees. The tree's coordinates are 22.39.22 degrees north latitude and 113.55.25 degrees east longitude.
The protection of old trees in Yingrenshi Village is generally good, but there are still isolated cases where the protection is not scientific and reasonable. For example, located on the road of the ancient trees, road construction units directly in the roots of the tree laying cement, as if being strangled throat, the tree almost no room for continued growth.
From Yingrenshi village out, we came to a few kilometers away from the Yangtai Mountain Forest Park. The ancient tree is on the left side of the hillside after entering the gate. Picking up the steps, more than 10 more than 100 years of lychee trees as a warm master ushered in us. Among them, two 150-year old trees are the most spectacular (No. 02050088), which are able to spread freely and grow unchecked because the neighboring trees are farther away. These two ancient lychee trees show the beauty of life with the most beautiful posture.
Limited time, did not continue to climb up, the directory also has a 100-year-old five-leaved peony, I do not know whether this is not destined to meet or leave it to the surprise of the next visit.
