North China Institute of Science and Technology is located in Yanjiao High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Hebei Province. Its predecessor was Beijing Coal Management Cadre College jointly established by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Coal Industry in 1984. 1993 changed its name to North China Institute of Mining and Technology, and enrolled students nationwide; In 2002, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college and renamed North China Institute of Science and Technology.
The school covers an area of 800 mu with a building area of more than 444,000 square meters. There are 49 undergraduate majors in the college, involving eight disciplines including engineering, science, literature, law, economics, management, education and art, 2 key disciplines in Hebei Province and 3 key development disciplines in Hebei Province. There are 3 national majors, 2 provincial brands, and 3 pilot majors in the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education.
