Legend has it that this dance was performed by the princesses of the Muslim ruling family in Mindanao. This kind of dance is similar to the folk dance-bamboo pole dance in Dai area of China. When performing, performers are required to put their legs between two long bamboo poles and tap together or separately when the rhythm alternates. The sound of bamboo poles and footsteps form a unique rhythm, which is accompanied by music and has a unique style.
