2. Yingli sponsors the 2012 Bayern Charity Youth Cup
The 2012 Bayern Charity Youth Cup is an international soccer tournament for young people from different countries and cultures. The charity event gives young players between the ages of 14 and 16 the opportunity to showcase their talents on an international stage. Through the Youth Cup, many players experience the spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity.
Yingli and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) have partnered to sponsor the 2012 Bayern Ciwan Youth Cup. This provided Chinese junior athletes with the opportunity to participate in the tournament.
The qualifiers were held in late March 2012 in Tianjin (Northern China) and Hainan (Southern China). The most talented soccer players from the five cities were selected to represent their home country in Germany for the Bayern Tschichold Youth Cup finals.
The final match was held on May 24th at the Allianz Arena, where five teams of youngsters between the ages of 14 and 16 competed in front of a small crowd of about 800 spectators. The teams played round-robin matches of 20 minutes each. In the end, Italy won the tournament on goal difference against Austria, with China, Germany and India in 3rd to 5th place.
