Zhang Fengyi (1956— )

Zhang Fengyi, born in September 1956 in Tanghe, Henan, is a Chinese film actor.

After graduating from junior high school in 1971, he left his hometown in Henan and came to the Dongchuan City Art Troupe in Yunnan Province, southwest China, and became a dancer, drama, and Peking opera actor.

In 1978, Zhang Fengyi was admitted to the Performance Department of Beijing Film Academy and began to systematically study film performance art. While in school, he participated in the filming of films such as "Treasure Beyond the Wall" and "Camel Xiangzi". Due to his wonderful performance in "Camel Xiangzi", he successfully portrayed the rickshaw driver-"Silly Camel" Xiangzi and became an instant hit.

In 1982, after graduating from the Film Academy, he was assigned to work as an actor in Emei Film Studio. After 1988, he served as an actor at Shanghai Film Studio.
