Shaohua rescued Zhang Nengcai and escaped. was hit by a car. On the eve of liberation, businessman Boss Yu exchanged gold bars for two passes to take the last boat to Taiwan, and wanted to leave the mainland with Shaohua, but Shaohua sent Zhang Nengcai on the ship. Forty years later, Zhang Nengcai returned to the mainland to find his lover, and only got a novel "Magnolia" written during his youth.

Behind the scenes production

This is adapted from a work by writer San Mao. The film describes the experience of a pair of young intellectuals from acquaintance to separation in the social environment of the time. emotional suffering. In terms of shooting and the use of lenses, music, and images, it is very different from previous films and uses many experimental techniques. As the heroine goes from mental hysteria to the later chapters, the rhythm of the film gradually becomes brisk, and then turns deep when entering the parting of life and death. The film won eight awards at the 27th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards for Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Costume Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Music.

The film depicts the personal relationship between children in turbulent times in a heart-stirring way, and the scenes are also beautifully shot. Brigitte Lin's character Shaohua alludes to the female writer Zhang Ailing. She grew up in a feudal family without father's love. As a girl, she was detained by her father. She wrote an article out of anger and was admired by readers. The two quickly fell in love. Zhang Neng was a civil servant working for the Japanese. He fled to the countryside because his identity as a "traitor" was exposed. The road of love between the two followed this bumpy road until the mainland fell and they finally faced separation. Director Yan Hao took the filming very seriously, and the location shots shot on location in mainland China also enriched the appeal of the story. The pairing of Qin Han and Brigitte Lin is a typical pairing of a man and a talented woman, and Maggie Cheung, who also plays a good friend, is also very scene-stealing.

It is difficult to control ourselves in troubled times

In the dead of night, when we suddenly look back on our past, it is not difficult for us to find that in our memories that have been dusted for many years, there are always There are some people that we have been vaguely thinking about; there are always some things that we always want to forget but just can't forget; there are always some movies that once we think of them, we can't help but sigh... To me Generally speaking, "Red Dust" is such a movie.

The main background of the movie is the mid-to-late 1940s, which was a turbulent era in modern China. In such a special environment, how can people survive? It's not easy anymore. If you want to talk about feelings again, it seems to be a very luxurious thing. However, humans are not grass and trees, how can they be ruthless? Once you are moved by your heart or emotions, you often can't help yourself.

It is said that in troubled times, the love between children cannot be understood. In fact, the love between children in troubled times is even deeper. And "The Red Dust" tells exactly such a story of deep love in troubled times.

The heroine of the story is named Shen Shaohua. She comes from a good background, is talented, and has no concept of money. Her life was entirely dedicated to love. If she had loved an ordinary man, perhaps she would not have to bear the miserable torment of her fate. However, whether it was luck or misfortune, she eventually fell in love with the man named Zhang Nengcai, and her life also changed. Then it became ups and downs.

She is lucky because it is difficult to find a close friend in the vast sea of ??people, and Nengcai happens to be the one who understands her. Although Shaohua was a wealthy young lady, her mother died when she was young, and her father was extremely indifferent to her. Therefore, deep down in her heart, she longed to love and be loved.

Zhang Nengcai is gentle, mature and steady. He is also polite, considerate and caring towards her. Materially, he knows what she likes and needs without her needing to say too much, and quietly buys her by himself to give her a surprise; spiritually, he He is her loyal reader, and with just a few words, she will be moved... How can such a person who knows both cold and hot things make her not be moved by him?

However, it was also her misfortune to meet a talented person. Firstly, it is because the former's identity is too sensitive and special: he is a "traitor"; secondly, because his calm character is a bit cowardly and lacks responsibility. For him, Shaohua has been accused by thousands of people and bullied; for him, Shaohua has been Resolutely abandoning everything and running for love... She has nothing else to ask for, she just wants him to love her! But who would have expected that in the end, he would fail her after all. Like a dream, life is heartbreaking, and the sky is filled with clear tears for falling flowers. If physical trauma can be healed by medicine and time, then mental trauma cannot be easily smoothed away with a few words of "I'm sorry."

However, the more serious the injury, the more unforgettable this relationship will be. For such a love, Shaohua's love is passionate and pure, like a moth fluttering into a fire. Even if it is burned and bruised, it never regrets. As for Nengcai, it's not that he doesn't love Shaohua, it's just that he is far more realistic than Shaohua. The vicissitudes he encountered while growing up and the particularity of his identity made him feel confused and even afraid of the future - after all, he was just an ordinary man drifting with the tide in troubled times. How could he bear such deep feelings in his time? So in that battle of love, Shaohua tried his best and moved forward bravely, but he retreated steadily and was ultimately defeated.

In sharp contrast to the talent is Boss Yu. He is vulgar, vulgar, and trivial in appearance...looking at him from a distance makes people feel disgusted. However, when Shaohua was bullied, he was the one who protected her with a saber; when Shaohua was in poverty, he was the one who took good care of her; when Shaohua was injured, he was the one who often came to visit her; when Shaohua was gone, he was the one who took care of her. When he was able to get on the passenger ship, he was the one who jumped ashore and vowed to live and die with her!

Looking back at Nengcai, what has he done for Shaohua? ! ——What a wonderful irony! It’s okay not to want such a man!

Actually, it was not that Shaohua had never made up her mind to make a clean break with the past, but many years later on that chaotic street, her talent's mute words "I, love, you" made her think again. Fell again. No matter what, she still loves him. For the sake of love, she resolutely left her chance of life to that cowardly man.

The moment of letting go in the sea of ??people at the pier was both life and death for Nengcai and Shaohua. In the next forty years, Neng spent her time in endless memories and regrets; as for her time, how did she feel about facing that long and lonely life alone? We don't know.

Small smiles, beautiful eyes

Sanmao's screenwriter, Brigitte Lin and Qin Han's couple partner, Zhang Ailing and Hu Lancheng's story prototype, Maggie Cheung's brilliant performance, plus Luo Dayou's heartbreaking song "The Rolling Red Dust". These are enough reasons to look forward to a classic.

Even though I saw Sister Qingxia, the legendary Jade Girl Patriarch with Sword Eyebrows and Starry Eyes in this play, looking at it from an objective eye, Sister Qingxia’s performance still has a vase-like posture in every frown and smile, and in every gesture. of. And Manyu is so agile that she is like a movie fairy. The main reason I want to write my review is to say that Manyu in it is so cute. As soon as she appeared, the brilliance emanating from her body made it impossible to look away. I don’t know what year the film was filmed? Was Manyu already considered an actress at that time? She is playful and natural, and her eyes are as bright as stars. The close-up of her face, where she is laughing and crying while holding Qingxia on the hospital bed, makes me feel that I can already see her in the final scene of "Sweet Honey" many years later. The ever-changing tearful smile that confirmed her status as a movie queen. Looking at the scene of Qingxia Manyu holding Qin Han's hand, chatting and laughing, and walking under the fragrant sunshine, I can't help but admire them. They are really two beauties. I can't see such beauties now. They really have skin as smooth as gel and a beautiful smile. Come, look forward to your beautiful eyes. What a wonderful feeling.

A very classic scene is Qingxia's bare feet stepping on Qin Han's shoes, embracing and dancing on the balcony, the red shawl wrapping the two people together, and the song "Rolling in the Red Dust" sounds melodiously. , light, shadow and color, there is a graceful and timeless flavor frozen in time.

No matter how unpredictable the troubled times may be, no matter how unfortunate the fate may be, as long as this moment of peace is dancing in your arms, there is nothing else you can ask for in this life. "This world is stable, and the years are quiet." It turned out to be too beautiful an extravagant hope, and I didn't dare to ask for it.

The film also focuses on the scene where the last ship bound for Taiwan sets sail, and a huge crowd of people evacuates the mainland. The director used a lot of space to show this spectacular picture. Perhaps it is to set off the separation between the hero and heroine in troubled times. It is very shocking and worth watching.

Lyrics

You were careless at first

And I was young and inexperienced

The world of mortals The love in the world

Just because of the stagnation of life in a hurry

I think it is the fault of the world

or the cause and effect passed down in the past life

Everything in a lifetime

Not even trying to get the momentary exchange of yin and yang

Easy come, hard go

Decades of travel in the world

It’s easy to separate but hard to come together

The eternal sorrow of love and hate

The heart that should belong to you

It still protects my chest

Only for the changing hands behind the changed face of the world

So you don’t want to leave

I want to say goodbye to the me who is no longer there

To this day There are still faint whispers

Follow our legend

There are still faint whispers in the rolling world

Follow our legend
