Three singles and an album were BW's accomplishments in 2008, and the kids look back on the year with great satisfaction. Not only did they have a friendly rivalry tour with friend and rival C-ute in the spring, but their solo fall concert also went off without a hitch. It is important to mention that B-ute, who originally had an idol pop style, started to switch to the kuso route from their 16th single "Genghis Khan". This cover song greatly shocks fans melodically. And "Punch it! Monkey Dance" tested everyone's tolerance once again with its impactful monkey look and dance. The kids also did their best to make the kuso style work in their POV. Although a lot of fans are quite critical of this transformation, it's not a bad thing to be brave enough to try. At least "Genghis Khan" won them their first local award, the Cable Music Award, at the 41st Japan Limited Awards. Last November B Work participated in the 5th Asian Music Festival in South Korea, which was especially meaningful because it was the group's first overseas public performance since their formation. Winning the "Asian Singer New Artist Award" was a great recognition and encouragement for the girls, and they were surprised by the enthusiastic support from their fans. The children not only took the opportunity to visit the famous Lotte Paradise in Korea, but also tasted the authentic Korean barbecue, and the seven little greedy cats actually ate the barbecue meat for 20 people at one time, which gave the staff a big shock.
To commemorate the fifth anniversary of their debut, B-workers released their first anthology, "BERRYZ Kobo Special best vol.1," on January 14th. This work shows the fresh flavor of the exclusive BERRYZ Kobo, and is also a summarized review of the children's five-year idol career. The album includes 18 singles and five selections from their regular albums to date, including popular tracks such as "Love Spell" and "Fountain Square of Confessions". The only new track on the album, "Boys", was customized for kids by producer Junjun. It depicts the mood of a little girl in love from a unique perspective, with alternative lyrics and a strong melody that listeners will never forget. The song is called "Pear Yaki's Song" by fans because it features Koya and Risako as lead singers.
When it comes to their goals for 2009, the kids have a variety of answers. Junior captain Saki Shimizu wants to learn how to cook; Chie wants to visit Okinawa's famous Grand Aquarium; Momoko, who is regarded as a receptor for spit, wants to eat the meat off fish bones; Kumar, who is about to enter high school, wants to try to become more like an adult; because she participated in Shooting Chaos Q's 20th Anniversary Concert at the end of last year, Koya hopes that BERRYZ Kobo will be able to take the Budokan stage this year; and Risako hopes that the group will be able to take the Budokan stage this year as well. Risako, on the other hand, wants to show her versatility; and compared to the other members, Mima's idea is a bit different - she wants to learn how to write with her left hand because she thinks she's a left-brained person, so she wants to unify her right brain by writing with her left hand. It seems that, as they say themselves, BERRYZ Kobo is really a group that "advocates freedom and is full of individuality"
Without realizing it, BERRYZ Kobo is now in its fifth year of existence. Five years is not too long or too short, and the kids haven't changed much except that they've gotten prettier and look a little more mature. It's just that Ya's hair has been cut shorter, the water team has become more grown-up, Bear's elevation has reached a surprisingly high level, Chie constantly recites her love of aquariums, and Malma's cold-faced comedian skills have been further enhanced. Confused little stupid pear often forgets her lines during MC as usual, and Momoko's pinky still crosses at 180 degrees when she sings 。。。。。 The BAGA's are still BAGA, and the diabolical ones are still diabolical. The company is still noisy, love each other, in the beautiful years of youth step by step to leave the footprints of growth.
