Childhood - exotic life and art
Han Chae-young, whose real name is Kim Ji-yoon, was born in Seoul, South Korea, on Sept. 13, 1980, with an older sister who was four years older than her. After studying piano, clarinet and flute, she grew up in an artistic environment and immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1989, where she began her life as a foreigner. As a child, Chaeyoung had a gentle and cheerful personality and enjoyed performing in school, often attending school plays and parties.
Choi Young's debut in Korea was a lost cause
In 1998, Choi Young enrolled at DePaul University's School of Business in Chicago, where she majored in finance, and was accidentally discovered by the famous Korean comedian Jeon Woo-seong, who convinced her parents that Choi Young had the temperament to be a natural star. Chae-young returns to Korea, meets with the president of Esder's People, and finally signs an exclusive contract with the company. From then on, Chae-young leaves her family behind and starts her acting life alone in Korea.
When she first started out, Chae-young worked mainly as an advertiser and print model, shooting ads for a famous
cosmetics and Korean clothing brand in '99, but she didn't get much attention.
Chae-young enrolled in the Department of Drama and Imaging at Dongguk University in 2000, where she began to study acting, and then in August of that year, she took part in her first movie - Actress with Park Eun-hye and Jung Min-hyun. In August of that year, she was cast in her first movie, the horror movie "Death Recording" with Park Eun-hye and Jung Min. As her acting skills were sprouting, she was cast in the KBS drama "Blue Life and Death Love," playing the role of the main character's younger sister, Sung-ae. Compared to Song Seung-heon, Song Hye-kyo, and Won Bin, who rose to fame with this drama, Chae-young's role was not flattering, and instead created a backlash among viewers right out of the gate. However, because of her real and bold performance, she was recognized and favored by industry insiders.
In the following years, Chae-young was invited to participate in the recording of the popular variety show "Our Happy Saturday," and she had a lot of advertisements, and in 2001, Star J Entertainment merged Chae-young's agency, and began to set the direction of Chae-young's development. In the next two years, she did not do many TV dramas, but she continued to work on various commercials throughout the year, making her one of the most popular advertisers in Korea. The shoots for fashion magazines also went well, and Chae-young's good figure was recognized by the Korean people, and her popularity gradually increased.
Famous -- sexy queen, she is a rising star
In 2004, Han Chae-young was invited to play the role of the second female in the Chinese-Korean TV drama "Beijing My Love". Though it was a supporting role, Chae-young won the hearts of the Chinese audience by her excellent performance and beautiful smile, and it was an opportunity to open up the Chinese market, and more and more Chinese movie fans began to pay attention to her. Once again, the drama was the climax of Korean dramas in Korea.
In May 2007, Han Chae-young took part in the movie "Is It Time to Live with the One You Love?", which was filmed in Seoul and Hong Kong.

Just like every girl's dream, Han Chae-young has become a beautiful bride off-screen, and on the afternoon of June 3, 2007, she got married to entrepreneur Choi Dong-jun, who is four years older than her. The couple left for the United States for their honeymoon the day after the wedding.
Husband Choi Dong-joon, born in 1976, is 4 years older than Han Chae-young and is a good-looking man of 180cm, who is now running a business company and working as an employee in an investment company. They have been dating since 1998 before Han Chae-young's debut. Choi Dong-joon first met Han Chae-young at a friend's party when he was studying in the US
and they dated each other as friends before they met again at an acquaintance's party last year and established a relationship.
Han Chae-young went to Chicago, where her parents live, on Dec. 18, 2006, and Mr. Choi went to Chicago on Dec. 23, 2006, where they visited Mr. Choi's home and spent Christmas and New Year's **** together, and then returned to South Korea on Jan. 3, 2007, on the same flight.
Han Chae-young had this to say about her groom, "He has a warm heart that cares for people in every way, and having known him for so long, his consistent and truthful attitude makes me feel that he's a reliable person that I can count on for the rest of my life." In their ninth year of knowing each other, they finally entered into marriage together.
The wedding took place at 5 p.m. on the same day at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, and the entire ceremony was not publicized to the public, with only family and friends from both sides attending. The wedding was officiated by Lee Jung-jin, an artist who works for the same agency as Han Chae-young; Lee Hae-kyu, former minister of public security and member of the National Assembly, officiated at the wedding; and Nam Kyung-joo and Choi Jeong-won, two famous South Korean musical actresses, sang a song of congratulations for the wedding. Before the wedding, Chae-young gave an interview to the media in her
wedding dress and was overwhelmed with happiness.
