It is the work of Cui Hu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, published in Volume 368 of The Whole Tang Poetry. Cui Hu (772-846) was born in Boling (now Dingzhou, Hebei Province) in the Tang Dynasty, and his life story is unknown. His poetic style is concise and graceful, and his language is extremely fresh. There are six Poems of the Whole Tang Dynasty, all of which are excellent works. Among them, the title "Chengnan Village" is the most widely circulated, with high popularity and good reputation.
There are two scenes in this poem, "Seeking for Spring and Meeting Beauty" and "Seeking Again". Although the scene is the same, things are different.
The original text is as follows:
Last spring, in this door, the girl's face contrasted with the peach.
Today, I came here again. I don't know where the girl went. Only the peach blossoms are still there, smiling in full bloom in the spring breeze.
The translation is as follows:
Last winter, in this door, the girl's face set off a bright peach blossom.
When I came here again today, the girl didn't know where she had gone. Only peach blossoms are still smiling and blooming in the spring breeze.

The writing time of this poem is not clearly recorded in the historical records.
However, Tang Meng's Skill Poetry and the Song Dynasty's Taiping Guangji both recorded this poem: Cui Hu met a beautiful girl in the southern suburbs of Chang 'an after failing to take the Jinshi exam in Chang 'an, and Tomb-Sweeping Day revisited this girl the following year, so he wrote this poem.
This record is legendary, and its authenticity is difficult to be confirmed by other historical materials.
