Macau travel accommodation, attractions, food, shopping guide

Macao is a very leisurely and comfortable city, where people live a slower pace of life, entertainment services industry is very developed, which is the reason why the GDP per capita of Macao in the actual forefront of the reason, most of the people here are more affluent, the following to share with you Macao travel accommodations, attractions, food and drink, shopping strategy.

Every time you go with different people, do different things, live in different hotels, eat different food, even if you walk through the same place, there are different surprises.

In fact, Macau is very small, consisting of the Macau Peninsula, Taipa (Taipa) Island and Coloane (Coloanr) two offshore islands. Let's start with "Accommodation & Attractions".

Accommodation Tips

There's no shortage of upscale hotels in Macau, so as long as you're on a budget, go ahead and try your favorite brand. On the Macau Peninsula, there are the famous Grand Lisboa Hotel, Wynn Hotel and MGM Grand Hotel (I haven't stayed in any of these three, show of hands), while _ Chai Coloane has even more choices, Sands Macao and Galaxy Macau have brought together a number of international five-star hotels, and here's a few of the ones that I've stayed in:

The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel

The Venetian Macao's success lies in the fact that it brings together a collection of The success of the Venetian is that it has made a commercial complex of hotels, casinos, shopping, and performance venues into a themed attraction and a destination that tourists are happy to visit, and do so again and again. My first few visits were just for shopping, a little gambling or a concert before I stayed there once.

The Belle Suite was a 70-square-foot room, with a sunken living room that's very inviting, and an all-in-one dressing room + restroom that was a surprise to the girls (because the vanity was beautiful)!

The Parisienne Hotel

While the Deluxe King Room is not as spacious as the Venetian's suite, it is new enough! If the Venetian's interior has Italian pomp and flourish, the Parisienne's interior is clean and sharp in modern French style. The ambience and hygiene are satisfactory in every aspect, and of course, the view from the bay window is my favorite.

The hotel's sixth-floor Aqua World pool complex and the "Paris Tower" in front of the hotel's main entrance are in full view, and the fairytale-like design of the swimming area from here is already very attractive to us as we prepare to go into the water.

The fifth floor of the hotel has direct access to the Paris Tower, so you can enjoy the views from all sides of the hotel.

Also, the Parisienne is great for bringing little ones along!

The open-air pool complex "Aqua World" has a wide variety of water rides such as the Tumbler, Jules Verne's Airship, Marie-Antoinette's Tower, and children's water slides ranging in size from 1 meter to 12 meters.

The hotel's "Q Cube Kingdom" has more than 1,800 square meters of indoor and outdoor space, filled with a variety of rides such as a climbing capsule, slide, carousel, etc., which are fun for both kids and adults!

Sheraton

There are four hotels in Sands Cotai Central - Conrad, Holiday, Sheraton and Regent - and I've only stayed at the Sheraton. This Sheraton has 4,000 rooms and is the Starwood Group's largest (and Macau's largest) hotel in the world. But that time one person to stay and the size of the hotel has little to do with the room tone and Parisian a bit like, even also have a view to see the small tower of the VIEW.

Macau Galaxy also has a few hotels: Banyan Tree, Ritz-Carlton, Okura, JW Marriott, Galaxy and Broadway. These hotels are conveniently linked through the casino and shopping

mall Galaxy Fashion Access.

Okura Hotel

I have stayed at Okura, which belongs to Japan's largest international five-star hotel chain group, and the rooms are not big, but there is the meticulousness of Japanese service. From the hotel lobby you can walk into the Bank Fashion Exchange, open eating/shopping/gambling mode, you can also walk next door to the Banyan Tree for a spa, in the Banyan Tree aroma wisps of aroma to release stress.

Additionally, if you are staying at any of the Galaxy Macau hotels, don't miss out on the Sky Wave Amoy Park - the world's largest Sky Surf Pool, the world's longest Sky Rapids at 575 meters, and Macau's largest children's water playground (beating out the Parisian!)! Haha)! Even if you don't go into the water, it's excellent to walk around the Sky Garden.

Attractions

Ruins of St. Paul's

Macao's landmark, there is no one. It is not a "pagoda", but the St. Paul's Church ("Samba" is the Cantonese translation of "St. Paul's"). The church went through three major fires, the last of which left only the front wall of the main entrance of the church in its present form.

After taking pictures of the visitors at the front, you can walk to the back to climb the pagoda, or go inside the Catholic Art Museum.

Address: St. Paul's, Macau Peninsula, Diagonal Harbour (below Fortress Hill)

Legislative Senado Square & Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Building

Legislative Senado Square is a plaza that is part of the Historic Centre of Macau, which is inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites. It is named after the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau building.

The entire square is paved with crushed stones in the shape of waves, and a fountain stands in the center, where many public events are often held, making it very lively. Plus the surrounding buildings have their own distinctive features, which make for an interesting contrast. The only drawback is that it is crowded with tourists.

Address: Central District, Macau Peninsula, north of the former Panjang Church, south of Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary

Also known as the Panjang Church, it is a Catholic church that was built in 1587, and is now in its present form after being restored in 1828. Its yellow and green exterior is distinctive, and the fact that it is located not far from St. Paul's and near the busy Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro brings its own additional tourist traffic. The church is also very beautiful, and we recommend going in for a visit, just be careful not to disturb the people celebrating mass.

Address: Rua de Panjangtang, Macau

Road_History_Pavilion

Didn't go inside to visit, passing by to see the appearance of a good beauty, tiffany blue color, attracting a lot of tourists to take pictures. Its predecessor is the Island City Hall building, was built in 1920, soon to be a hundred years of construction.

Opening time: 10-18 points (closed on Monday, Tuesday free)

Address: Taipa old town, Su Liya Shi Lihua Street

PS: also has a tiffany blue appearance and more beautiful architectural attractions is the Museum of Portuguese Rhythm of the Long Huan, in the seaside of Taipa Marco Polo, is a popular place to take wedding photos.

Black Beach

"Black Sand and Waves" is one of the eight scenic spots in Macau. On the east side of Coloane Island, there is a natural beach that is about 1 kilometer wide, which is named after the black color of the sand on the beach, and it is also the largest natural beach in Macau. Growing up watching the sea growing up I do not have much obsession with the beach, if it is rare to see the sea partners can go to see this particular beach.

Macao Tower

I'm afraid of heights, I will not go to the Macao Tower bungee jumping! The bungee jumping program set the Guinness World Record for the "Highest Commercial Deceleration Descent" and is one of the todo

lists for many thrill-seekers, with Nicholas Tse's guest appearance on the episode of "America's Next Top Model" and a number of variety shows both at home and abroad. Variety shows have been filmed here.

Shopping Tips

Macau Peninsula

Panjangtang forecourt - Avenida de Almeida Nueva area

Before or after you go to St. Paul's to hit the streets, don't be afraid of the crowds, go to browse Avenida de Almeida Nueva, where you can enjoy the unique roadscape left behind by the colonial period - the European-style buildings with patterned stone pavement, you can instantly pretend to be in Europe. The walking route between Avenida Almeida and St. Paul's is filled with must-have stores for mainland tourists like Watsons and Sasa, as well as many skincare boutiques, Marathon sports stores (I love going in to browse for shoes), Bauhaus, bossini, and other popular brand stores.

New Yaohan

It's not far from Avenida Nueva Marina, within walking distance. Because it used to be owned by the Yaohan Group of Japan, it still retains the shopping environment and services of a Japanese-style department store (much like Takashimaya in Shanghai). The mall has many floors and basically covers everything a family needs, especially Japanese brands.

Address: 90 Avenida Dr. Suaris

Road_

This side of the shopping, whether it's the environment or the category is simply unbelievable! Why? Because Sands Macao alone has three malls - Four Seasons, Venetian Mall and Parisian Mall - plus an indoor bridge across the road to Sands Cotai Central, which is awesome! Basically, you can break 20,000 steps after strolling down these four malls in a day. And that's not counting the adjacent Galaxy Macau and City of Dreams

Four Seasons

Just by looking at the name, you can tell that it's a place where big brands are concentrated. The space is open and less crowded, there is DFS's duty-free store T

Galleria (T Square), a collection of major skin care and makeup counters, is also a luxury buyer's paradise, so as long as the wallet has the strength, shopping is still very enjoyable.

The Venetian Mall

There are many brands, mainly in the mid-range, and the stores I would check are i.t's b+ab, chocoolate, izzue, etc., and the French shoe store maud

frison (whose basics flats I return to almost year after year).

The beauty of chance encounters. A golden cage holds a winged angel playing the violin, and the picture couldn't be more romantic under the bright lights. The chance encounter with a gondolier singing and paddling for his passengers on the Grand Canal does enhance the shopping experience.

The Parisienne shopping center

Again, it's wonderful, and I especially love seeing such gorgeous images.

The dancers, who happened to meet twice more, are dedicated to their work and will not turn down any invitation to take a picture or a photo, always with a smile on their faces.

Both outdoors and indoors, just as the Venetians restored Venice on the Water, the Parisians have gone to great lengths to name areas of their shopping centers after famous Parisian locations, such as the Champs-Elysées, the Vivienne Arcade, and the Avenue Montaigne.

While there are only half as many stores as in the Venetian, you can't miss Antonia, a high-end fashion buyer, which opened its first store in Brera, the fashionista district of Milan, Italy, the second in the world.

Sands Plaza

Honestly, I shopped at Sands Plaza for one reason - Kid's

Cavern, which is a fun shopping paradise for adults as well, even though it's about picking out gifts for kids, and taking a second to go back to my childhood (no! The Cavern is a fun place for adults to shop, and it's a trip back to childhood (no, we didn't have such a rich material world in our childhood). Not only are there toys for girls and boys of all ages, a few big name brands of children's clothing, and a full range of baby and toddler products, but there's also a wide range of stationery (which I couldn't move my feet when I was stuck in it), and I also have my favorite Herschel school bags for sale. Think twice if you're bringing kids haha.

Galaxy Fashion Access

If you're staying at Galaxy Macau, Galaxy Fashion Access is very convenient. With a circular structure and two floors, the stores basically include luxury brands, as well as light luxury brands like ToryBurch, Kate

Spade, and my favorite Aesop boutique! Of course, the mall is also filled with dining, with Lugang Town, Tsui Wah Restaurant, and a food court.

Food Tips

Macau may be small, but there are many Michelin-starred restaurants. I've always wanted to go to the three Michelin-starred RobuchonAu

Dome French restaurant at the Grand Lisboa Hotel to pick up a star, but unfortunately, I couldn't get a reservation after booking a couple of times

Along with the Grand Lisboa Hotel, there is also TheEight, Macau's only current three-Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, and Chef TheKitchen, a one-Michelin-starred steakhouse restaurant.

But my experience of picking up stars in Macau is still rather blank, I've only tried one -

I was only a Michelin one-star when I went to eat there at the end of 2014, and it's already been upgraded to a two-star in 2016, so it seems to be performing steadily and improving! The food goes French and the ambience is atmospheric. Traditional ingredients are cooked in a new-school approach and are full of surprises, from the presentation to the taste.

TheTastingRoombyGalliot Imperial Cuisine

The setting is serene, with a high floor height and floor-to-ceiling glass surround, so you can see the open sophistication outside the restaurant.

Address: 3/F, Crowne Plaza Resort & Spa, City of Dreams

Kuanya Street

Kuanya Street, as a classic handmade food street in Macau, has two or three streets and alleys, none of which look wide or long, but they also hide a lot of small stores and concentrate on a lot of food, which attracts a lot of tourists to gather here.

Santos Portuguese Restaurant

Originally, I was looking for Dumbo Portuguese Restaurant, but I couldn't find it, so I went to Santos. The decor suggests that the Portuguese owner is a soccer fan, and I was very impressed with his warm welcome to guests, his Cantonese, and his authentic food.

Don't look at this plate of Portuguese chicken looks ordinary, but eat it is very special and very delicious, curry should be added a little coconut water, sauce salty and sweet, chicken is also very tender.

Address: 20 Guanya Street

Dumbo Portuguese Restaurant

Because I've eaten Portuguese chicken at Santos and found it to be good, I ordered Portuguese chicken at Dumbo as a rule, as well as Portuguese_style macadamia (macadamia=cod) and two soups.

We thought Dumbo had a good reputation, but the result was "the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment": the _ fish looked like a stew, the Portuguese chicken and chicken curry were basically no difference, and the taste of the two soups was also very general. A good disappointment, should not come back.

Address:_ 2/F Sheraton Plaza, Bunker Street, Chai (next door to Kwun Yip Street, at the junction of Water Duck Street and Bunker Street)

Tan's Shark's Fin

Tan's Shark's Fin is next door when you go out of Dumbo and turn left. The main shark's fin ranges from 55mop to 1,000mop, depending on which one you order and the portion size you order, and the store also has other rice entrees. We ordered the shark's fin in a stone nest. I saw the shark's fin soup still bubbling in the stone pot that was brought up, and held back my saliva to record a video first

Can't wait to eat, the shark's fin in the stone pot is a whole piece of shark's fin, it looks awesome, although it's not big, but it's still cost-effective, and the soup base is a very fragrant broth, which is very tasty, and I've heard that using it to fish for rice is also a very good choice, we can't help it that we can't eat any more, so I would recommend recommend recommend recommend!

盖盖就写了它家的招牌和地址,不喜榴莲的我们点了一个木糠布丁和原味大菜糕。

Da Cai Gao: the first time I heard the name will think it is a savory pastry, I did not expect it is a kind of dessert looks like jelly, but compared to less I prefer this less thick q-bouncing feeling of texture, but the taste is very ordinary, nothing special.

Wood chaff pudding: open to see full of wood chaff on the heart of flowers, eat up a milky flavor but not too sweet and greasy, the texture is similar to ice cream melting in the mouth, it is recommended to try.

Address: Shop A, No. 9, Guanya Street (at the corner, the location is very easy to find)

Cheng Chang Restaurant

Address: No. 28-30, Guanya Street

Kui Kee Bakery

Famous for its local specialty stores, every time you go to buy more or less favorite snacks to go home or to friends as a hand-me-downs, we recommend its almond cake, almond slices, phoenix rolls, dried meat, and other products, as well as the food is very popular. Sliced almond cake, snowflake almonds, phoenix rolls, dried meat

Address: _ Chai Guanye Street 11-13 (do not have to specifically look for, a lot of places have stores)

- Avenida de Almeida -

Wong Zhi Ji

My first visit to Macao on the classmates brought here to eat fresh shrimp wonton noodles. It is said that the founder opened his store first in Guangzhou and later landed in Macau. Apart from the wonton and noodles which are the signature, there are also a variety of Cantonese congee and snacks.

Address: No. 17, Senado Square, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro & No. 51, Rua de la Cinco de Octubre

The tart is an egg tart with caramelized sugar, and even though you can get it on the mainland, you'll always find that Macau's is the best! It's the most authentic! The most authentic! We recommend the following two divorced husband and wife stores, haha.

Margaret's Egg Tart

Nah, this is the place to go for breakfast OR afternoon tea! Freshly baked, fragrant Portuguese tarts with frozen/hot milk tea are delicious. The store is very busy, so cherish it if you find a seat.

Address: Ground Floor 17B, Kam Lai Building, Mathews Street, Avenida do Almirante

Andrew's Bakery & Café

Andrew's is Margaret's ex-husband, and it is rumored that Margaret sold Andrew's recipe to KFC after her divorce, hence the KFC tart, haha! I haven't been to the old store yet, I go to the Venetian branch often to refuel when I'm tired of shopping.

Address: Shop 870, Rua de la Faces, Level 2, Grand Canal Shoppes, The Venetian

Yishun Milk Company

There are two famous "milk companies" in Hong Kong, one is the Australian Milk Company, and the other is the Yishun Milk Company. The latter has also opened in Macau, with desserts such as double-skinned milk, ginger-cream milk, and stewed egg with fresh milk making my phobia of choice explode every time I order!

Address: 381 Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, Macau Peninsula (there is also a stall at the Venetian Food Court, but I don't feel the produce is as good as the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro store)
