Night on the Grassland was born in 1959, which is an episode of the documentary Green Yuan Ye shot by Bayi Film Studio. Tian Ge composed the music and Zhang Jiayi wrote the lyrics.
The song "Night on the Grassland" is called "Oriental Serenade", which was once rated as a world-famous serenade by UNESCO and a classic of China folk songs. It has been sung for more than 40 years since 1959. There is a grassland night garden in Huocheng County (and Cocodara City), Ili, Xinjiang, where it originated.
The songwriter of "Night on the Grassland" once went to a military reclamation farm in Xinjiang composed of 13 ethnic groups to live in depth.
