Kingdom of Thailand (Thai:? ), commonly known as Thailand (Thai:? ) is a constitutional monarchy country located in Southeast Asia. Thailand is located in the middle of Indochina Peninsula, bordering Myanmar and Andaman Sea in the west, Laos in the northeast, Cambodia in the southeast and Malaysia in the south. Thailand's old name was Siam. On May 11th, 1949, Thais changed "Siam" to "Thailand" with the name of their own nation, mainly to take its meaning of "freedom".
