Spain

When Brits talk about vacations, sunshine, the tropics, islands and beaches, the first thing that comes to mind is Spain, which is a favorite destination for almost all Brits.

Spain is not far from the UK, culturally similar, cheaper, and most importantly, the climate is "guaranteed" to be better than the UK, so it has become the first choice for many British families to spend their vacations, and some Brits simply buy a house in Spain as a second home.

There are many different types of vacation in Spain, ranging from islands and beaches to sightseeing cities, catering for people of all ages and preferences.

The Mediterranean islands of Ibiza and Mallorca are known for their wild parties, drinking, and nightclubs, which are very popular with young people.

The Canary Islands, a Spanish dependency off the west coast of Africa, have a mild climate all year round and are one of the UK's most popular destinations, especially for family vacations.

Not to mention the culturally rich cities of Spain - Madrid, Barcelona and other towns and cities where you can get a taste of Spain's culture, art, history, gastronomy and landscapes.

All in all, Spain is a safe bet for Brits who want to take a vacation abroad, and Spain promises to bring you sun, sand, wine and tapas, nightlife and endless sightseeing.

Greece

Greece is another place known for its island vacations. Surrounded by the Aegean Sea, the Ionian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, there are more than 200 inhabited islands in Greece***.

Like Spain, a vacation in Greece is all about enjoying the sun, islands and beaches while exploring thousands of years of history, ruins and mythology in Athens and elsewhere.

Greece's many islands offer a variety of landscapes, from the eastern islands near Turkey, where you can experience a distinctly different Middle Eastern flavor, to Crete, the largest island to the south, which benefits from the warm winds of Africa.

France

France is the closest continental country to the UK, and while Brits and French don't always get along, there's always been a market for French style in the UK.

Portugal

Portugal is also one of the most popular destinations for summer vacations for Brits, especially the southernmost region of the Algarve, as well as Lisbon and Porto.

The southern Algarve region is known for its beautiful coast, which faces the Atlantic Ocean and is slightly cooler than the Mediterranean resorts in the summer, and there are relatively fewer tourists, so you can enjoy a little more leisure time.

Brits who want to go on a Mediterranean vacation and are on a budget can opt for Italy, where there are fewer package tours and prices are a little higher.

Italy's Sardinia and Sicily are home to many upscale resorts, many of which have their own exclusive beaches to meet the privacy needs of socialites.

In the Mediterranean islands or coastal towns can also be seen on many private luxury yachts, moored offshore, is simply a rich man's sea castle, the rich and famous on board can be undisturbed in the case of the full enjoyment of vacation time.

Caribbean islands are often described as paradise on earth in advertisements for British vacations, and a few key words are: tropical islands, sandy beaches, coral reefs, and private vacation villas. A few of the more popular British islands include Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, as well as Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas.

Rich British entrepreneur Richard Branson owns a private vacation island in the Caribbean, Necker Island, which is often visited by socialites and Hollywood stars.

This year, Britain's Prince William and his family vacationed on Mustique, a private island belonging to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This isolated island has crystal clear blue water, white sandy beaches, and most importantly, absolute privacy, the island is a no-fly zone, only 100 vacation villas on the entire island, the royals do not have to worry about the paparazzi and fans of the tracking of the vacation here.

Florida

From the Caribbean and then a little bit past the United States of America's Sunshine State - Florida, which is also one of the British favorite vacation destination. Orlando, Florida is known as the theme park capital, with Disneyland, Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a favorite of British families with children. A little further south you'll find Miami, a Latin-inspired city with a wide range of water sports, hipster men and women, stores, bars and restaurants, and a colorful nightlife in the evenings.
