The school was founded in 2000. In March 2007, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an undergraduate institution and renamed Hebei University of Communication. In June 2009, it obtained the right to award bachelor's degrees. In October 2011, it was approved by the National Academic Degrees Committee to obtain full-time master's degree enrollment qualifications, becoming the first private universities in the country to provide master's degree education, and entering the ranks of national high-end talent training.
The school is located in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, and has two campuses, Jing'an and Xing'an.
