What is the origin of the Hundred Lions Square in Shanxian County, Shandong Province, and why is it known as the first square in the world?

The Hundred Lions Square was built in 1778. It was built by the imperial court for Zhu, the wife of Zhang Park of Wenlin Lang. It is a national key protected cultural relic, located at the east end of North Pai Fang Street in Shan County, Heze City, Shandong Province. The reason why it is called the first square in the world is naturally because its superb architectural skills and monumental artistic value fully embody the wisdom and strength of the ancient working people.

The Hundred Lions Square, named after its 100 carved stone lions in different postures, signifies ? A hundred things (lions) as expected, a hundred things (lions) long life (beast). The pagoda is 14 meters high and 9 meters wide, with four pillars and three rooms on five floors. It is situated on the top of a hill and centered on a carriage road. Sidewalks are set up on both sides. This pagoda is carved with 100 lions of different shapes.

The Hundred Lions Square has both carvings and reliefs because the 100 lions are beautifully carved and not similar in shape. They rank first among the major imitation plaques and are famous at home and abroad. The structure of the entire pagoda is rigorous and symmetrical, magnificent, beautifully carved, lifelike, beautifully carved, numerous and harmonious, marvelous.

There are six brackets under the eaves of the main building of the Hundred Lions Square and three brackets under the eaves of the next building. There is a well-proportioned layout between the upper and lower parts of the entire square. Carved with lions, cloud dragons, peonies, kissing animals and elephants, the statues are lifelike, soft and hard, expressing harmony. The eight pillars are divided into eight groups and carved with 100 stone lions. The lion giant has curly hair and prominent eyes, a long nose, wide mouth and sharp teeth. It curls up, towering, agile and powerful. Each large lion is topped by five smaller lions. Round pine lions are carved in relief on the front, left and right sides of the lion's seat. The young lions dance and tumble in twos and threes, fighting for the embroidered ball. Each pillar is carved with four dragons that hover and fly on soft, graceful, auspicious clouds. The upper and lower fronts of the main house, the lower fronts of the second room and the eaves of the main house? Holy Decree? plaques were hollowed out and carved with two dragons playing with beads. The carved dragons drooped their eyes and claws, shook their heads and swung their tails like flying.

The frontal square in the middle of the main room of the Hundred Lions Square has three layers of hollowed-out peonies, which give people a colorful and fragrant feeling. Kissing beasts, elephants, forked beasts, fish, seahorses and running beasts carved on the ridges and flying eaves are elegant and vivid. Kissing the tail of the rolled mouth pharyngeal ridge, each kissing the body of the beast carved in relief two phantom dragons. In the center of the ridge, two dragons are carved upside down, supporting a pearl vase ornament. Other parts are also carved in relief and sculpted with auspicious figures such as double dragons, peonies, chrysanthemums, regimental cranes and regimental longevity. A hanging stone birdcage is also carved on the nose of the lower disk in the center. When the breeze blows, the stone bird gently spreads its wings and sings. The entire pagoda is well-structured, magnificent, beautifully carved, beautifully sculpted, numerous but not cluttered, with a clear order of priority.
