Liangshan International Torch Festival is held once every few years

In April 2013, the Liangshan Prefecture Committee, the state government decided to adjust the Liangshan Yi International Torch Festival Festival time: organized by the state party committee, the state government of the Liangshan Yi International Torch Festival held every three years to adjust to every five years.

The main venue is generally located in Puge County or Butou County, the capital of the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Xichang City, set up a branch of its beauty pageant activities in the selection of beautiful women generally from the Meigu County.

The Torch Festival is the biggest traditional festival of the Yi people in Liangshan, Sichuan Province. On this day, families drink wine, eat lumps of meat, and kill animals to sacrifice their ancestors. Men take part in bullfighting, goat and chicken fighting, horse racing and wrestling, while women sing, play the mouth string and moon zither. At night, groups of people holding torches all over the mountains, fire light, drinking, singing and dancing, and play until the end of the day.
