Introduction of Dai Ailian
1. Dai Ailian (May 10, 1916-February 9, 2006), formerly known as Wu Ailan, born in Trinidad, West Indies, with her ancestral home in Du Ruan Township of Jiangmen, Guangdong, was an outstanding member of the Chinese ****anese Communist Party, one of the pioneers and founders of the contemporary dance art in China, a famous dance Artist, dance educator, known as the "mother of Chinese dance".
2. Dai Ailian went to London, England to study dance in 1930, and studied under the famous dancer Anton Dowling, and then joined the modern dance master Mary Wegman, and returned to China in 1939. Her main dance repertoire includes Homesickness, Buy, Gleaner and so on. After the liberation, Dai Ailian became the first director of the National Dance Company, the chairman of the National Dance Association, the principal of the Beijing Dance School, and the director of the Central Ballet.
3. Her dance works such as "Flying Sky", "Umbrella Dance", "Yang Guifei", etc., of which "Flying Sky" is the first dance treasure in the Chinese dance world to show the art of Dunhuang in the Tang Dynasty. Dai Ailian also wrote a dialogue with the dancer Jiang Qing's book "Say Ailian". 2006 February 9, Dai Ailian died in Beijing at the age of 90 due to illness.
