Linyi County, belonging to Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, is located in southwestern Shanxi, the northern edge of the Yuncheng Basin, southeast of Yuncheng City border, southwest of Yongji City adjacent to the Yellow River on the west side of the Yellow River and Heyang County, Shaanxi Province, north of the Lone Peak arching show connected with the Wanrong County, with a total area of 1339.32 square kilometers. Topography and Geomorphology:
Linyi County is bordered by the Yellow River in the west, Taiyue in the east, Emei Ridge in the north, and Zhongtiao Mountain in the south, with a flat topography, no mountains and no mines, and it is a Pingchuan County in Shanxi Province.
Linyi County landforms are subjected to long-term and complex tectonic movements, and erosion and accumulation, especially the Yanshan and Himalayan period of tectonic movements, since the Quaternary period of erosion and accumulation, the morphology of the landforms have a decisive impact. By the earth tectonic movement to form the fault block and elevation changes, manifested in the graben and barriers.
The geomorphology of Linyi is clearly divided into two geomorphological units, namely, Loess Taidaiguan and Blossom Plain, which are typical geomorphological structures. The Loess Terrace Wall, also called Emei Ridge, accounts for 50.96% of the total area of the county, with ripples in the south and west. The southern edge is about 500 meters above sea level, the northern border is about 600 meters above sea level, and the highest point is located in the northeastern corner of the Lone Mountain is 820 meters. The terrain is inclined from north to south. The Blossom Plain, which accounts for 46.5 percent of the county's total area, is 360-400 meters above sea level and shows a northeast-southwest inclination.
The climate of Lingyi County is warm temperate continental. There are four distinct seasons in a year, with scarce rain and snow in winter; dry and windy spring; relatively concentrated rainfall in summer, but often with varying degrees of drought; and generally cloudy and rainy weather in fall. The county has plenty of sunshine, with an average of 2,271.6 hours of sunshine throughout the year, and the total radiation of sunshine is 123.9 kcal/cm2 throughout the year.
The average temperature of the county in the past years is 13.5℃, the average annual maximum temperature is 19.7℃, and the extreme maximum temperature is 42.8℃, which is the highest in the province. The county's average annual precipitation of 508.7 mm, rainfall to the least in winter, followed by spring, highly concentrated in summer, and then significantly reduced in the fall. Drought, hail, heavy rainfall and dry hot winds are common weather disasters.
