Xueqin tells RuPing that Shuhuan is the son of a diplomat in Nanjing and asks her to play tricks to win Shuhuan's favor. When they go on a picnic, they see a big buffalo in the countryside. Du Fei tells Ruping that the buffalo is chasing her, and she is so scared that she runs away and almost falls down, fortunately, Shuhuan is smart enough to hold her and prevent her from getting hurt, and Du Fei captures the scene of the two of them with his camera. When DU Fei drops the picnic basket into the water, Meng Ping, Ru Ping's sister, asks him to make up for it. Duffy invites all of them to a restaurant, but they are not polite. Episode 4: Yi-Ping's career as a singer

When Yi-Ping refuses to sing another song, it angers Master 5, and Shuhuan intervenes to mediate, but he fights with the bodyguard. Dufei joins in, but he is defeated and almost loses his eyes.
Shu Huan introduces himself to Master 5, and Dufei says he wants to be interviewed by Master 5.
Zheng De pulls a car to pick up Yi Ping from the dance hall and scolds them, thinking that Shu Huan and Du Fei are pestering Yi Ping. When Erhao is ordered to deliver the living expenses to Wenpei, he has a disagreement with Fang Yu on the way and is y impressed by her. The straightforward Yi-Ping offends a guest during a performance. Although the matter is resolved through Shuhuan's mediation, Master 5 is still furious and slaps Yi-Ping angrily backstage.
Episode 5: Erhao Discovers Yiping as a Songstress

Zhengde is accused of cutting the price to steal business and is beaten up by the car drivers outside the ballroom. Shuhuan fights for his rights but is outmatched, but fortunately, Master 5 steps in just in time to teach the crowd a lesson. Shuhuan tells Zhengde that he will be responsible for sending Yi-Ping away, and Zhengde is glad to do so. Shuhuan visits Wenpei at Yiping's house and scares Yiping.
Wen Pei wants to keep Shu Huan for dinner, but Yi-Ping is afraid of misunderstanding and takes him to visit Zheng De. When Shuhuan sees that Ke Yun is sick, he says to Zheng De that he can introduce a doctor to her, to which Zheng De and his wife are grateful.
Zhenhua asks Erhao to give his living expenses to Wenpei, but Erhao is reluctant to do so, and Ruping is afraid that Erhao will tell Yiping that she is a singer, so she volunteers. Ruping leaves the money behind and leaves, Yiping has no choice but to go to Lu's house to give the money back to Zhenhua. Zhenhua is in the way of Shuhuan and Dufei who are at home, so he holds back his anger, but when he sees Yiping's arrogance and rudeness, he lashes out and pushes her down, and Shuhuan and Dufei rush to intervene. Erho apologizes to Shuhuan and asks him to find RuPing to make an explanation, and Dufei agrees. When Erhao takes the initiative to tell Fang Yu about his past love, Fang Yu teases him about his past love, but it still doesn't hurt their relationship.
Shu Huan and Yi-Ping take Ke Yun to a psychiatrist, who points out that they need to find out the source of her illness in order to solve the problem. When Mengping hears Erhao advising RuPing to accept Dufei, she asks her about it and RuPing blurts out that YiPing has known Shuhuan since they met in a dance hall. When Mengping learns that Yiping has become a singer, she reports it to Zhenhua, but Xueqin laughs. Zhenhua blames Erhao and Ruping for not reporting it to him, and they try to calm him down, but to no avail.
Wenpei learns from Zhenhua that Yiping has been hiding her job as a singer, which is like a bolt from the blue. Zhenhua goes to a dance hall to look for Yiping and listens to her song "Unforgettable Past", which reminds him of his first love. Zhenhua asks Yi-Ping to leave the dance hall, but to no avail.
