You can open the NVIDIA control panel in your computer and turn on the notification bar area to show the GPU activity icon. Then hover your mouse over the graphics logo to see if the discrete graphics card is working or the integrated graphics card is working.
1. Right-click on a blank area of your computer and select NVIDIA Control Panel to enter.

4. Hovering the mouse pointer over this icon without clicking on it will show the current status, or none if the discrete graphics card is not turned on. At this point, it indicates that the integrated graphics card is working.
5. When the discrete graphics card is turned on, the mouse pointer stays on this icon without clicking, showing that several programs are currently using the discrete graphics card, proving that the NVIDIA discrete graphics card is already working.
6. Left-clicking on the icon displays the icon for the program that is currently using discrete graphics.
