Overview
Founded in 1952, the university was originally the Guangxi branch of the Central Institute for Nationalities (now the Central University for Nationalities), renamed Guangxi Provincial Institute for Nationalities in 1953, renamed Guangxi Institute for Nationalities in 1958, and renamed Guangxi University for Nationalities in 2006.
As of November 2020, the university has three campuses, namely Xiangsi Lake Campus, Siyuan Lake Campus and Wuming Campus, covering an area of about 3,600 acres, with a campus floor area of 887,298 square meters, a total value of teaching and scientific research equipment of RMB 423 million yuan, a library collection of 1,878,900 books, and 723,760,000 e-books; it has 24 colleges offering 82 undergraduate majors.
